Re: I want loud

It fits onto the G35 w/ an extension piece. That is the exhaust note in all it's glory, and the sound is not modified by test pipes. Here's a pic of it on my car.

Re: I want loud

just run straight from the headers if you're looking for a loud loss of low-end power obnoxious sound.

Agreed. There is no magic behind it, if you want loud all you need to do is go straight pipe.. it doesnt matter if its made by Greddy or Microsoft, a pipe is a pipe.. the rest has to do with the quality of the muffler's construction, welds, bends, and pipe material.

On an NA car, straight pipe is unrealistically loud. You will be deafened AND you will most definately receive citations. Realistically, any exhaust that is straight that also uses minimal noise cancellation (smaller can-style muffler) will be the loudest. Not having resonators and cat converters will also increase noise level.

Re: I want loud

wow, I actually like the richness of the sounds from that Pro-1.
do you have a link where I can get more info?

is it a true dual cat-back?

but eventhough I really like the exhaust's tone, I'm not sure if I can live with such a loud one on a daily basis... what does it sound like when you just cruise around the city, keeping it under 3500rpm?

Re: I want loud

The Pro-1 is a Y-pipe back exhaust. If you keep it low in revs, it doesn't get that loud when you have the silencers in. They come fully polished like so:

Re: I want loud

Depending on what state you are in, like me in Calif. it may not pass smog. I have heard on several occasions that with true duals you can lose torque.

Re: I want loud

Aftermarket exhaust shouldn't affect your warranty. If anything did go wrong, they would have to prove that the exhaust was the cause of the failure. Like they couldn't void your suspension warranty for an exhaust.

As far as passing smog it shouldn't affect it at all. People swap out the cats for test pipes and still pass the sniffer test. And exhaust doesn't affect the emissions side of things really.
