What is this?

Does anyone know what this is for. I had to remove it to get my new wheels on. Doesn't really effect anything I don't think. The bolt isn't long enough to hold the rotor on, so, I am not sure what exactly it is....

its just there so you dont mix up your front wheels with the rear wheels if you look at the inside of the front wheels youll see a cutout so the small bolt can go in and the rear ones dont have that, but if your getting after market wheels you have to take that bolt out.

why does everyone think this?! i know it does prevent it but why? its to help remove your rotor after its been on for a while and kinda stuck there even after you remove the caliper off.

That screw is just to help the dealer when they are removing the calipers. It will not affect anything.

pretty sure it's there to prevent you from putting the rear wheels in the front.
