Search it. Trust me, this is the easiest info you can find. Tons of great write ups and analysis.

Ill stick to my 5/16

I think he's just refering to a short or long block. 5K is definately enough to get a short or long block for the VQ. They run from low 1,000's to almost 10,000 depending on how much work has been done.

All u need:
1. Coilovers - to be quick, you need proper suspension. don't be cheap in this department, because a good suspension is probably the best mod you can do. trust me you'll thank me in the long run. about $2k-3k installed, depending on what and where you install.

2. Wheels - the thing that will most dramatically alter the look of your car. you can go either cast or multi-pieced forged. i recommend going with 19's, because of durability and comfort, tires can also be a pain in the ***. for cast 19's expect to pay about $1600-$2400, depending on wheel and tire brand. and for forged expect to pay about $3000-? (some are offered at ludicrous prices).

3. Intake, Exhaust, and Spacer - an intake and exhaust is probably the first performance mod that everyone does. they are easy to install and give your car a noticably different tone. as you may know the design of our stock intake plenum is not designed to its potential. its a common mod for g's to get one of the plenum spacers. about $1500-2500 installed, all depending on which brands you decide to go with. IMO. go with whatever product aesthetically looks best to you, as i think that most of the products out there are all manufactured to the same level (obviously, you'd have to only consider the bigger manufacturers).

from there you would have you car setup pretty nicely. you could add an aero kit, upgrade the stereo system, dynamat the rattles in the g, go forced induction, the list goes on and on. hope this helps.

YEA, thanks! here is my list, tell me what ya think: Injen CAI, Mrev & 5/16" spacer, nismo pullies, stillen exhaust, tein springs, DPE GT 7 or MRR GT 1 wheels, with Nitto NT55 tires, tint, and few other small things

Pick what's more important to you looks or speed (are you really going to take advantage of the speed, yes it's good to have but ar you going to actually need to go 12seconds in 1/4 mile or 160mph as top speed?)

IMO

1. any type of intake = waste of money
2. good quality wheels/tires and suspension will cost you $5K right there
(look at DPE, HRE, Volk, Rays, just to name a few)

My suggestion for $6K
1. Nice wheel of the brand i named on the top
2. Falken FK 452 Tires
3. Tein BASICS suspension
4. Motordyne Mrev2
5.Motordyne Plenum Spacer
6.Fast Intentions Intimidator Exhaust or HKS Hi Power or Stillen
7.Some Fast Intentions High Flow Cats
8.Gialla Grille
9. Batman Overlays for Rear Valence
10.Tinted windows

All that with labor will be around 6K

That being said, don't expect too much from bolt-ons...maybe 30-40 whp tops and that's with everything but the kitchen sink. If you're looking for power, maybe you got the wrong car?
right SSV not giving any power

This thread is great to look before getting any mods.

bolt ons have a general consensus as being not owrth the money. you can nickel and dime your way to a few more ponies but it won't be of much value you to you at the end of the day (at least that's what's to be gained from many of these other previous individuals)..

learn from others mistakes.
