Re: Anyone Regret It?

I've had my G35 Coupe for 3 months. I had been looking at C5's and BMW M3's. I drove the 2004 G35 Coupe and that was that. Best bang for the buck. I've had my G35 3 months.

Here's something funny.... I'm driving down the freeway and I look to my left and see a beautiful Z06. The drivers giving ME the thumbs up! :-)

You will always want what you don't have. If you had a M3 you would stare and oogle at some other car that you might want..it's just human nature. It's like my girlfriend..I fought so hard to get her and then once I had her I lost interest and went after a better model. It sucks, but you have to not pay attention to those thoughts

Re: Anyone Regret It?

I went the other way and spent a few more bucks for a used M3. I've been wanting the M3 since the previous generation, and I actually like the fact that the M3 blends in w/the 3 series crowd (w/the exception of other car enthusiasts). I also wanted a car that I wouldn't be modifying. I still think I would have been happy w/the G also.

Re: Anyone Regret It?

No regrets whatsoever for me after 2 months+. Everytime I see a BMW I'm glad I bought the G instead. I'm a fan of the M3 but when I priced an M3 on BMW's website to the same levels as my G, it seem to cost close to 20K more. If I had that kind of cash I'd buy a G and a nice $15K "winter beater" .

Re: Anyone Regret It?

exactly GX9901... M3 will cost around 20k more when m3 and g are with same options... for really, do you guys want very fancy one 60k car or very good car around 40k and get fairly nice another beater? if i've gotten the m3, i would have to worry about my car everytime i park somewhere... and people will key m3 for no reason... i would rather get g and accord coupe... drive accord without worries and drive g on weekends or when i meet some hot girls
i mean m3 is sure a nice car but paying 60k for a car is little bit ridiculous... it's just me but i'm not gonna/never spend more than 45k for a car...

Re: Anyone Regret It?

If I were bent on new, I would have gotten the G35. It had everything I wanted for the right price. I just happened to be in the right place at the right time for my M3. It had the color and all the options I wanted with only 3,800 miles on it. My cost before tax was about $47k. The guy getting rid of it was an iron man competitor and blew out his left knee on his bicycle, so the heavy clutch in the M3 was killing his leg. Seriously though, how much power do you really need for the street (unless you are into posting kills, which I am not)?

Re: Anyone Regret It?

No regrets, my G is sweet.

I love all kinds of cars for many different reasons. I actually gave a VW Golf on I-95 props because it was very tastefully tricked out IMO.

To each his own, but to me a G, wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Re: Anyone Regret It?

love driving it everyday; I have to take my other car out on weekends just to keep it running, but the G is my favorite. Only thing that bugs me is the driver side seatbelt non-adjustability (if that is indeed a word)

Re: Anyone Regret It?

Mine arrived in early August (May build) and I have a little over 4000 miles on it now. So far, nothing has broken or required any dealer visits. The tranny is very stiff on sub-30 degree mornings for a few minutes but smooth once warm, but at least for now, no grinding. Still averages about 23-24 mpg no matter how I drive it. I bought the G35 after having a C5 Corvette 6M and am happy with the choice. The Vette was nice and had its own perks (great gas mileage and the waves), but the driving experience in the G35 is much better.

No regrets here.
