Re: Black Vs. Diamond Graphite

honestly I had a hard time finding a colour I liked, the selection was very very limited. Besides the shades of grey there is only that flaming blue and red, so I went with the red. Can't go wrong with a red sport coupe *shrug*

Re: Black Vs. Diamond Graphite

My vote goes to DG, I would have gotten this color had it not been so common - half of the G35 coupes I ever saw are DG, including the two I test drove from two different dealers.

Black, while nice on many cars if kept clean , doesn't appeal to me for the G35 coupe.

Black coupe looks great while its clean. Invest in a California Duster and be prepared to wash weekly by hand.

Re: Black Vs. Diamond Graphite

I have black and I'll say that it'll never be clean bro, Nothing beats black at nite with that tire gloss. But that only lasts for one day and then its back to filth. If the weather doesnt get you, the dust definitely will. My car is dirty more than its clean and that because I cannot full time cleaning my car, i do have a job. If you have the time patience and money to spend on cleaning your car twice a week and also if you have a garage then go for it. If not I d adivse on the graphite. If i had to do it all over again I would wait for the graphite. I love the black but as they say love hurts and its hurts very badly when you got black cuz ya got dust, swirl marks, fine scratches, and God forbid you get any rain or snow!!! Good luck though it'll look great whichever color you choose

Re: Black Vs. Diamond Graphite

I got black because of everything that has already been said... looks insane at night, looks amazing with tinted windows, etc. etc. etc....

If you go black, make sure you have a garage #1, and #2 make sure that when you drive in the rain, you never leave you car sitting with water spots.... that just looks horrible... But damn does my car look ridiculous after I clean it... No better feeling IMO....

Re: Black Vs. Diamond Graphite

All these ppl complaining about black cars being impossible to maintain, however, it isn't as bad as it is made out to be. To me at least. I mean I do wash the car about once a week, own 3 California dusters, garage, wax, tire gloss. I drive it pretty often, and I mean, it gets dirty pretty fast, but its not like you take it out and its dirty.

I have to admit I never take it out in the rain, and I didn't drive it with the big Southern California fires. So, I don't see how everyone is saying black can't be kept clean for a day... Maybe it depends on the weather, dust levels of the area or whatnot, but thats my statement.

Re: Black Vs. Diamond Graphite

Here's my dilemma... I know I want graphite interior... my first instinct was to go with the twilight blue. The dealer said it was almost impossible to get a TB / 6MT / Navi coupe with the graphite interior. Now I'm left with black and diamond graphite. My next instinct was to go with black since it was more similar to TB, but everyone with black cars says it's almost impossible to keep clean.

So I guess all I need to know is exactly how much more cleaning is involved in the black vs. DG? Are we taking twice as much cleaning, or 10x as much? I'll also be living in an apartment, so I can't count on having a garage. Since I've never owned a black car before, I'm really unsure of what to expect, but I know I want the car to always look good. Please let me know of any opinions. Thanks!

Re: Black Vs. Diamond Graphite

Depends on where you live, (city or country). I have black and it is my only car. I live on 5 acres of almonds. It is a daily chore. Luckily in my area there is Primeshine carwash. I have unlimited washes for 6 months($107.00) and it leaves a near perfect wash. I just go over with the chamois afterwards. If you keep it waxed it helps to repel the dirt. Honestly I will NEVER have another black car and I personally don't know anyone who has had black twice. At least if you have the willow interior that is one less battle.

I don't know if anyone's with me on this one, but I think this car looks best in IP! I just don't want that because my last car was white.
