Drivers Seat Modifications

Hi Folks,
New here. Just picked up an 04 5at coupe with 24k. I put a couple hundred miles on it and the bloody thing is tearing up my right leg and lower back. Before you jump me, I have read the entire monster thread on seat discomfort and any other info I can find on seat modifications and am thinking of tearing this apart myself. I gather that the site was changed or modifed so older pictures are no longer available. Does anyne have any pics of the seat torn down showing the brakets and mods the old posts contained? Also much of that infor is a few years old. Any new solutions to share?

Many thanks to all from Southern Ohio.

On my350z.com they have a thread where someone figured out how to the lower the seat by about .750" more than stock. Maybe this will help you.

The 0.75" driver seat lowering thread is located here:

Very easy to do, it seems.

Thanks for the replies. I have seen the lowering thread and will probably do that to make room for a temporary pillow. I am looking for information and pics on modifying the controls switch and changing the lower seat bun to prevent the pressure on the side of the right leg. Yea, I'm 6'1 and 225 but still seams wrong that a classy car like this wouldn't allow for more adjustment. FYI, I also have a Cobra, GS300 and Buick Regal GS (don't laugh, 14.8 in the quarter and 30 MPG no lie) so this isn't in my head. Wife says good incentive to loose 20. I will attack this from both angles, the car's and mine. Anything else?
Thanks again

I'm not tall or short for my weight by any means, but even I had a little trouble with the width of the seat at first. Over time I've gotten used to it. How long have you had the car?

Are you talking about the seat control location? It gets to me too after an hour or so in the car. Not sure what they were thinking when they designed the seat...

Thanks for the replies guys,
Had the car for about two weeks. Yes the controls on the seat. There is some information about movng the controls and taking some of the padding out of the right side so you can sit centered in the seat. Maybe I'll physically adjust over time but for now it numbs my leg and causes lower back pain, probably because I am twisting in the seat. I am using a pilow for now but that's to getto for the long term. Unfortunantly, the pictures that were included in the old posts no longer come up.
Thanks again

Thumbs down

I talked to a shop in San Diego and they would not touch it.

Dealer told my $3,000.00 for a new 07 Sedan Driver seat

Well I guess I'll fly blind here. It seems from the othe seat discomfort thread that people were cutting the braket the controls are mounted on. lowering the whole thing and removing some of the padding on the right bolster behind the control panel. I was hoping to find some pics from days gone by of what other have done . I'll make a run at it and see what happens.

Will do. I am also having trouble with lower back pain no matter how I adjust the seats. I have never had any issues in the past. I just bought this car and love it except for the seat. xsxeems most peps love em but I don't get along well with mine. I am considering letting it go and it still has the temp tag on it! BTW its a silver 04 5AT with 24 k on it. Can't post in the for sale section yet because I am too new. Anyhow, anyone that has any words of wisdom I would like to hear from you!

Maybe I'll have some time this weekend to open it up and take a few pics
