obligatory 1st "got my G35" post

Picked it up Saturday after getting the runaround and a half at Tustin Infiniti in SoCal. Basically they found what I was looking for at another dealer, I bought the car that day. They went to pick it up Wednesday and the car was gone. Personally I think this was totally unprofessional, then after getting BS'ed for 4 days and giving up hope, *a* car showed up Saturday. The funny thing is, the salesman said "yeah this was someone elses car and we had to take it for you" . I guess thats just how things work.....I feel sorry for whoever got screwed over because now I have their car haha.

Spoiler, front lip, and splashguards were on the car I bought, but I wasnt charged for them since I never asked.

I'll be browsing around reading up on the forums. First order of business is find a tint place....

Woo hoo! Welcome to the club.

Careful on the tint, any tinting on the front windows is illegal in CA.

How much if anything did you get off the car at Tustin Infiniti? When I was doing my car shopping, I was able to get them down $1000 off of MSRP for a 6MT coupe after I let them know was ready to buy.

It seems they are more interested in playing games and telling you how the car will be gone tomorrow if I don't pick it up right then and there....

I personally hated my experience at Tustin Infiniti but that is just me... Anyway, I could not get money off Tustin by the way.

I wanted to ask if you checked the VIN numbers on the car that you wanted. Sometimes if they get an over MSRP offer and hold for the car, they will sell it to the other person. Maybe that person decided not to buy, and they gave you your car anyway. How many miles did it have on it when you finally got it?

Oh and enjoy. =)

Re: obligatory 1st "got my G35" post

The salesman at Tustin Infiniti kept trying to wheel and deal, and I was right about sign on the dotted line when they tried to pull a "my sales manager said we can only do $750 off". I thanked them for their time, and told them to give me a call when/if they could do $1000 off.

I went home a bit flustered, and decided to call Grubbs in Texas based on all of the positive feedback I have been reading about them. It turns out Grubbs had the exact car I wanted in stock, and offered me $1500 off of MSRP.

I'll be flying to Texas some time next week to pick the car up. Ended up getting a '04 6mt DG/G/ Premium/Navi/ 4 piece body kit/ trunk mat for around $39.500 out the door.

BTW, after getting off of the phone with Grubbs, the guy from Tustin Ininiti called back saying he could do $800 off now, but I told him I was no longer interested.

Re: obligatory 1st "got my G35" post

Thx all.

I didnt check VINs so I have no idea.

They also didnt give me anything off MSRP. Once they screwed up though they gave me the GAP coverage and their wheel/tire "warranty" thing for practically nothing. The salesman was ok, and I went there about a year ago and talked to someone that was nice too, but it just seems that SOMEONE was playing games.

It was funny because they were BEGGING me to give them good marks when I get my survey. Hahahahah. The salesman will get good marks, but I think I'll have to attach another sheet in order to leave my true opinion about the whole experience.

Oh and as for tint, I got harassed in my old car about once a year so I'm willing to deal with it.
Edited by MrCynical on 01/05/04 09:05 PM.

Yes, Loaded for 39.5k out the door. Grubbs Infiniti beat Tustin Infiniti price by over $500 dollars. Only catch is I have to pick it up in Texas (Live in So.California) and drive it home <aww poor me>. Look at it this way, by the time I get the car home, it will be broken in already! 22 Hour trip per mapquest.com
