Re: HATE THE POLICE 1st Ticket

LoL I got a ticket in utah once for going 91 miles in and hour a year ago, but ofcourse didnt get away with it. I got a 300 dollar fine in the mail because I was only 17. But I went and appealed it and paid only 80 bucks and had to drive nice for only 3 months. funny thing was that the cop said he was following me for a while already, and Im thinking to myself, "wait a minute i was doing 105 30 seconds ago" but the realized to shut the hell up and let that cop BS. and that 105 was done in a 1992 mitsubishi diamante
Thank you very much, for all you mitsubishi haters out there who say they have shitty engines.
160,000 miles and STILL RUNNING!

Quick Robin... TO THE BATMOBILE.

ImportFreak, We know you're venting bro, and we've all felt your frustration in a similar situation, i'm sure.
The advice to 'suck it in' and pay the fine and learn from the mistake is good advice. If you're doing over 80 a lot, then maybe slowing down is a good thing for you and everyone else around you. It could save a life or 2.
We appreciate you sharing this experience with us and understand that you just wanted to vent the anger. Try to find some consolation in that it was only a ticket, and not something more serious.
We all have our fun and take some chances at times, but being a little more discreet would help you big time.
Take care bro, and be safe...........

Re: HATE THE POLICE 1st Ticket

don't know which state you're in but...
in nj, if you go to court, you can meet with the prosecutor and plea down to a lesser speed and less point and $.

also, unrelated to that, say you will contest it. then two weeks before, notify the court you will be away and postpone it. keep on postponing it. you get the chance that the officer might leave the force or something.

drive slower next time.

I'm not the best at spelling, nor typing, but what the HELL? That little rant was so hard to read. Where in the hell you from boy? Ye yall na po-po go yah a ticket. Yah shure ye have an-a In-fin-i-ti??? Or uhhh yeah..

and getting a ticket is a bad reason to "hate" a cop! Maybe if you was beating a black man, or pulled you over for being a hick, but come on. Its his job to inforce the law, and of all places the PA turnpike. You should have know better!!!
Edited by WRAH on 01/07/04 07:48 PM.

Re: HATE THE POLICE 1st Ticket

I know the feeling. I just got this speed ticket 93mph at 65.
I was driving about 70 and this ***** in front of my car decided to throw a lighted cigarette through the sunroof! and somehow it flow and hit my front windshield!!!! I was like What The FUxx!!! changed the lane and tried to point finger to that driver.
of course I speed up the car to catch up the car in front of me. and next thing I know the Laser warning signal went off from my V1 and BAM! got pulled over. I was so fucxing pissed but I knew I just got nailed for speeding. I even handed the liscense and registration card before the cop actually walking towared my car because it was SOOOO obious that he's gonna say the usual bla bla bla....... The fine was $275.
didn't even bother to go to court cuz the judge will laugh at me. [censored] happens.

Re: HATE THE POLICE 1st Ticket

Don't know how this works in your state, but the last three tickets I've had -- over the last 5 years -- I paid this attorney $100.00 for each one and simply forgot about it.

A couple months later I'll get a letter stating my court date. Then a couple months after that, a letter from the attorney saying no points, no extra fees, no traffic school. I believe at worst, I'd get hit with court costs but haven't yet.

Many places have these "ticket clinics" that offer the same services, even for less.

The whole thing is a racket. In some countries, where they're concerned about your safety and not making money, they'll only place speed traps where you really need to slow down, and they'll warn you in advance. None of this hiding in the bushes crap waiting to catch someone doing 70 mph on a road built for 90 mph, with a posted limit of 55 mph.

Re: HATE THE POLICE 1st Ticket

I feel for you bro. I've always heard to go to court for every ticket you get because you will win 70% of the time. The cops don't show up most of the time and they will dismiss it. I've gotten out of a couple of tickets that way. Especially from speeding on the highway. I would say who cares about paying for the ticket, it's the points on your license and insurance going up that you don't want. Depending on how fast you were going, I forget how it's rated, but they will give you a certain amount of points on your license for it. So go to court and if the cops shows up, then maybe workout a deal with him. Say you'll plead guilty to going 70 instead of 80. That happened to me once. The cop actually asked me what I would plead guilty to. I said well I know I wasn't going that much faster than the speed limit and he said okay then let's say you were going 70 in a 65. Instead of 87 like he originally said I was. That's still speeding, but a lot better on your driving record. Good luck.
