A good shop would leave about 1mm gap very very small, you can't even tell unless you get right on on the edge of the glass. A cheap place will end up leave 1/4 gap because they are lazy and don't want to do it right.

mine is maybe a 1/8 gap maybe not even that, but the tint on mine was cut out by a machine so it has a smooth edge, so it was quick and easy.

Ya the place I went gave you the choice of either way. It was like $10 per window to get it "to the top" as they called it and since I have a coupe it was only $20, well worth it IMO.

whoever did your tint is either retarded or not familiar with the couple...

You don't need to take the doors off. What you need to do is clamp the sensor on the side of the door while the door is open so the window goes all the way up and you can tint the entire window. There is NO excuse to leave a huge gap. My gap is tiny and barely noticeable. Either make them fix it or have them pay someplace else to fix it.

a good tint place should be able to roll it to the top. my tint goes right up to the edges of the window. just have them redo it for free or remove it and refund your money. most reputable tint places will do it til your satisfied.

+1^ Mine is not even noticable, the only excuse they should have is that they don't know wtf they're doing.

he's right about the "NO excuse to leave a huge gap." the place i took it to did mines perfect all the way to the edge no gaps or anything, tucked it thru the rubber "squeege" guard, plus tell the guy to just unscrew the sensor, no need to use clamps once unscrewed, like leave it hanging, the windows roll up, i've done this before to when removing damn tint for a ticket that i got grr...

back window

Does anyone have a gap on the top of the back window. I really dont like it but i dout it would have worked because of the black dots that are on the window at the top... is this something they should have been able to tint?

no gaps here. You can tint over the dot matrix, just need to be careful about leaving pockets of air. They usually go away after a few days if done right. Mine did

^ +1 i think most places to do the vinyl since the tint doesn't stick to the dot matrix too well or it has too many air pockets.
