i don't know if i'm being super picky, but does anyone else notice a tapping noise from the engine? it kinda sounds like valve tap, but i think it's coming from underneath the engine. i also notice that when i turn off my engine after i've driven for a while there kind of a rattling noise from under the car as well, kinda sounds like a heat shield or something. one other thing that has been bothering me is that at about 65 mph, the front tires seem to make a wobbling noise, as if the wheel balance is off, but my car doesnt pull to the side, nor do i feel it in the steering wheel, i just figured it to be road noise from the tires. please tell me that these noises are normal and that i don't have to bring my car in for service after only 1500 miles put on it =(

 

The tapping noise is normal - have 3800 miles on mine and it has stopped. The virbration is different, you should not have any shutter in the steering wheel - take it back have have them rebalance the front two wheels.

Tapping noise is probably normal, coming from heat shields, etc. As for the tire noise, I had the same type of noise at around 65-70 mph when my summer tires were on. The steering wheel did not shake and the car tracked straight. There was just warbling noise. Once I put on my snows, I realized that it is likely a road noise problem with the summer tires or a slight balance problem. I will have a better idea once I get my summer tires put back on in a couple of months.

 

I think that the tapping noise is coming from the exhaust sytem. I installed a new exhaust in my coupe and haven't heard it since.
