Clear corners... stupid A#$ question

I know nothing about infiniti mods, with the clear corners do I need to change any of the bulbs or anything??

Also any other good mods?

Thinking spoiler and tint. Doubt I'm going to do a drop.

E46 BMW is what I'm most familiar with and people would visually mod the piSz out of those, doesn't seem to be as popular here, maybe because the cars look so cool already.

Not a stupid question...by the way welcome to the board.
The JDM clear corners from Nissan come with the socket and amber bulb. The corners on the car stock on our cars are amber with a clear bulb.
I changed out the corners and went with a hyper white aftermarket bulb....Many others here use LED's or CCFL tubes for extra whiteness.

I find the stock 168/194 bulbs are adequate, but I don't know what effect your going for.

As far as nobody here modding their cars, I suggest you do a couple searches and check out the Media section along with some of the other technical sections.....Some BIG money being dumped into these cars around here.....including body mods and paint...

Once again, welcome and enjoy your new ride.

Didn't mean to insult the members here about modding, I meant that the E46 people have trillions of trinkets on the non-m cars trying to make them look more like m's, resulting in thousands on trim changes, mirrors, painted reflectors, all kinds of crap.

I think the G is hot as it is for the most part!

Thanks for the welcome, and again, hope I didn't offend anyone!

I just saw some amazing photos of these cars,,, just hoping I didn't make a mistake with Serengeti sand!

Clear Corners and Bulbs

I just finished the JDM clear corners and swapped out all bulbs on the vehicle (including interior and reverse and license plate lights). I think it looks really good especially on an IP color. I did a 20% tint all the way around and I am waiting to do 35% on the windshield. I used Hybrid and Matrix bulbs and I am happy with them. I wonder what PIAA or LED's look like.

I will try to get pictures this weekend.

Next: Tein...hurry up with the coilover kit for an '07!

Actually, it's illegal to have clear corners at all since side markers are required to reflect amber. Most cops will let it slide.

I think the legality varies based on your state. I looked up the state laws here, SC, and saw nothing about reflecting amber, just must be visibly amber light. So the clear corner with amber light works for me

In AZ you must reflect amber from the front and red from the rear. Most cops won't mess with you as long as you have amber bulbs in them.

Not true. If they notice inspection stickers and registrations, they'll notice illegal corners.

My brother-in-law, a municipal cop, noticed my clear corners immediately the first time he saw my car. He told me I needed to put the amber corners back in to avoid police harassment (of course, I did not). He admitted he would never pull somebody over with clear corners as long as they light amber. However, he also admitted he will write a warning or a citation and require the lights to be changed if he pulls somebody over for a moving violation.

Regardless of how good it looks, no lights at all is risky. Those bulbs are there for a reason.

I kind of wonder what they would do if there were no corner lights at all. I have the JDM black housing corners without the bulbs and have been fine.

Corner lights make you visible to others. If somebody hits your car because they can't see you, you will be found at fault.

What a bunch of B.S., as long as you have amber bulbs it doesn't matter if
the corners are clear or not. But amber bulbs are required.......at night you
couldn't tell if the sides were amber or clear as long as the bulbs were amber!
Even Burbank/Glendale cops aren't that harda$$! Tell him to get the stick
out of his ...!
