Power Loss? or just getting used to the car?

I have had my 03AT G35 since this last march and could not get enough of the power through the gears. However just last week I felt that it wasnt getting that power like it used to.

Now I have been using the manual mode to shift down and try and conserve my brakes, and I have also been using it to shift up (where on a few occasions i hit redline in 1st).

I just want to know if I am just used to the power now, or is there a potential that i have a problem with the transmission or something. I cleaned out the air filter and put in 91octane, but still dont feel a big difference from before (89octane and a dirty air filter).

Any help or advice would be nice, I was actually wondering if any of you have gotten used to the car's power and thought you lost it too?

Im at 59,000 miles! Will the dealership look at it for free or are they going to charge me the $115 diagnostics test to see if they can find a problem?

I was using 89, because I was being cheap that day... I didnt think it would really hurt the engine or give me less power. 89 is the least octane out of the 3 right? Anyway I will see what the dealer can do.

Its really when i go into second gear manually it stays in it for longer than before, stressing on the revs a LITTLE more than it used to.

My car has been feeling slugish lately too, but I've never put in anything less than 91. I can barely chirp 2nd now and initial throttle responce feels like it is slightly lagging a bit.

Have you serviced the fuel system and MAF? If you have no service light on you will be wasting your money on diagnostics; they will love you for that.

Get the fuel system professionally serviced at a reputable shop and feel the power and efficiency again

+1

you could also do a quick check on your spark plugs (bad gas can foul plugs). After going through the thread again I noticed you reported that it is reving higher than before, check your tranny fluid as well.

I changed my spark plugs in April, not a month after I got the car. On cylinder 6, the plug was wet on the outside of the plug and obviously on the inside of the plug. I called up the dealership and of course they said if there is no orange light on then there wouldnt be a problem. I need to go and check that cylinder again...it's just a bitch to get all that stuff off.
