My 2003 sedan's turn indicators have gone crazy. They flash okay in the front but in back both sides flash very dimly. When you step on the brake with the turn signal on, it acts like the emergency flashers and if you use the turn signal it cuts off the cruise control like you stepped on the brake. The dealer has had the car for four days and can't find the problem. They've already replaced the main computer. Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks

Usually when turn signals behave differently it's because either there is a blown-out bulb or the signal relay is bad. But these should have been the first things the dealer checked.

 

If you recently changed a bulb, change it back.

 

After five days the dealer found a bad turn signal/headlight combination switch. Everything is fine now. They fixed it under warranty.

 

yeah, thats the first thing they should have checked, the relay, then the combo switch.. I had something similar in my old 2k maxima. It was the relay in that case.
