What do you all think!!!!
This is the 3rd time i have taken my car ito the dealership because when I start it up in the morning there is a loud rattle sound coming from the motor, and it also makes that sound in 1st and 2nd gear. The dealer tells me that my engine is buring oil some how. There is no leak. So they dont no. They told me to bring back when it makes the sound again. Oh by the way when I went to check the dip stick it was tied down with a twisty aroound the intake and some other wire and there was no oil in the engine.

and once the car warmed up the noise would stop. I assume because the oil begins to spread around. Anyways sorry for such a long post but this is annoying having to go back every 2 months.

Do you do your own oil changes. Do you check your oil after you have it done & also after the car warms up and cools down the first time. If you just starting having problems then maybe someone who changed your oil did not put the proper amount in & by driving it low caused internal engine problems. It could also be a F0*C UP by someone who possibly left the old plug gasket on, the old filter gasket could of got stuck to the block, or even someone who forgot to tighten the plug or filter. This is why I always check my oil right after the dealer does it, and again after the car fully warms up & cools down. It is unlikely that it would just start to happen after 30K miles without someone doing something they shouldn't of.

 

Question { why did you start the car if you noticed the dipstick was tied down and no oil showed on it }. Did i misunderstand you? Did the dealer do an oil change that day? If this is the case, Then the problems are most likely caused by the car running with little or no oil.
