CLK320 vs 6MT

The lease is up on my Mercedes CLK 320 and I decided to get something that was more fun to drive and a little less money. A few of my friends say that I'm nuts going "backwards" from a Benz to an Infiniti. I keep telling them that they'll understand once they get in it and drive it. Have you found your 6mt to be everything that you expected??? Oh and it will smoke a CLK

Tell your "FRIENDS" to pay your expensive car note and expensive insurence. My "FRIENDS" said the same thing when I went from a BMW540 to the G. People ask me all the time do I regret getting an Infiniti. I love my G, and I am glad that I got it.

Re: CLK320 vs 6MT

It'll smoke a 320... :-) I wouldn't mess with a CLK 55, at least until the G can eat some power pellets of its own.

I do like the new CLK 320/500's. They seem quite a bit smaller than the older CLK's.

Your friends will come around when they ride in it. I had friends who were doubtful when I got my Infiniti, but it might've been because of Infiniti's less-than-stellar reputation before the G & FX.

Re: CLK320 vs 6MT

CLK320 isn't even in the same class as the G35 coupe in terms of fun & handling. Although it may look a little more upscale inside, I doubt it's better built in quality. I really like the previous generation CLK though, but the new one is a disappointment.

Re: CLK320 vs 6MT

CLK320 is like a Newport Beach Chevy. Way too common. I am not a Mercedes kinda guy. However, my sister has a CL55 which is one beast of a machine! Go for the G35C 6MT!

Re: CLK320 vs 6MT

I bought my 330Ci back in 2002, had it for 7 months and traded it in for the G. I wasn't happy with the Bimmer cause it was too slow and wasn't fun to drive. My G is just a totally different beast. I can smoke clk55's no problem.

Re: CLK320 vs 6MT

One of my very good friends has a CLK320 and he will be trading if for a FX35 soon because he is tired of all the check engines and other problems with this car. Btw I smoke him all the time...the G is better in every way.

Re: CLK320 vs 6MT

This is interesting as I was seriously considering both the 330 and the CLK320. I did not drive either though, so I cannot compare. I am surprised about the comments on problems with the CLK. I figured these to be well built cars, at least Mercedes markets them that way. I pre-ordered the G35C before introduction on the word of someone I trust who drove a preproduction unit and raved about it. I was sold on the looks from the get-go. No regrets.

You can't smoke a CLK55, i haven't seen any G35 pulls 0-60 in 4.9, and 13.2 quarter mile. Actually to smoke it you will need to beat it by 4.2, 12 second quarter mile. I have to raise the bs flag. :-P
