Question What's your diagnosis - Front Right wheel rattles over bumps

Hey guys,

I've actually been dealing with this for about ehh 1-2 months or so. I JUST put my summer rims on and had a new front brake job...

For the past couple weeks when I go over bumps or like any rough ground , (I live in a development with rocks and mud etc in the street) my front wheel sounds like its loose and its going to fall off. I just put my summer rims/tires on and they fit snug.

Has anyone heard of issues with our suspension or something in the front that could be rattling? Its wierd, when I'm on the freeway or even a smooth stretch, i hear nothing, but as soon as I hit something like a little bump in the road or whatever, i hear RATTLE RATTLE RATTLE. Its kinda driving me crazy, and nervous, like I said it actually sounds like my wheel is loose and about to fall off....

What do you think my issue could be? I'd like to have an idea of your thoughts before I take in for service....

I had this same exact problem. Took it to the dealer - sway bar link was worn out - replaced it for free and I was back in business.

either endlink like mentioned or wheel bearing...jack the car up and try to turn the wheel left and right. If it wobbles, you need new bearings.

Honestly I am not sure what the dealer will say considering your suspension parts are aftermarket. Technically they cannot refuse to service it unless they can prove the aftermarket parts caused the problem your having - but this is easier said than done. Look up the Magnus-Moss Act (SP?). Either way its worth a shot.

Yeah I took it in and actually ended up being that my boot had split and had let all the grease out. Not to mention, when i got in my accident, the mechanics put a wrong bolt on I guess, so they had to order some big part (they were not very descriptive with me). But they replaced and rattle has gone away...all under warranty yippee!
