First post... looking into getting a G35 coupe, figure I might as well get acquainted here =) I'm currently trying to decide between the G and the ex v6 accord coupe (rather, trying to convince myself the G is worth the extra cash I'd spend to buy and maintain it!) I'll be test driving one in a day or two.
Couple questions... as far as modifications go, will the same performance parts be available for the Automatics as for the Manual versions? What's the real story with NISMO parts... will any Infiniti dealer install them and stand by them, how much more will they cost than other similar aftermarket products, etc? (based on experience with previous Nissan cars, that is.) Finally, if anyone else was seriously considering an AV6, could you post what made you decide on the G35? =)
Thanks, and hello again!

As for me..
Since I drive "ultimate handling machine".... I wanted to find something that is almost BMW like in sprint time and the handling. Seems like G35coupe has most of this characteristic or better. Personally I don't really think front wheel drive setup as "good handling." Obviously Accord was just out of the picture. Although Accord does have nice horse power rating and pretty "cheap" It's in little different class than the G35s. I think G35 is more of Acura Cl Type-S, Lexus IS300 and obviously the 3 series. If you really want a sports coupe with nice handling plus power and luxury: G35coupe
if you want a cheap affordable and nice power and little bit of luxury but not so unique: Accord V6. But remember, buying g35 will definitely cost ya.. but remember the "fun" you are getting out of it.. really..

hey,
i was looking at the accord v6 fully loaded with navi, leather , and the works. they said 29,600 + tax and tags. if you want the gcoupe comparibly equipped, you are looking at an extra 10 grand. for the extra 10k you get more horses, more luxurious interior, your taken care of a bit better at infiniti, head turning style, and you're bumped up into a different social class. your decision depends on how much you weigh each factor. bottom line is, if you have the funds, the g is the way to go, but if you are a little iffy, the accord is a step down but still a nice car which is basically an acura.

Re: Hello =) (and questions)
10K is a tad bit of a stretch. I would say a well equiped G35c is going to be about $36500 drive out. My sticker price for 5AT with just the premium pkg was $34265. If your gonna get a G35c, the prem pkg is a must. Its only a little 2K more and IMO, makes the car into a true luxury car. Do you really buy a Mercedes with absolutely no options? Does anybody buy just a base Mercedes? Its kinda like that.......Just my opinion though. Your really comparing apples and oranges here since the 2 cars are not in the same 'class'. Good luck with your decision.
ps: Here is the exact topic your pondering on from the perspective of the other side, WARNING: lots of morons who don't know jack and are hatin' on the G....

10 grand is too much, i was thinking more like 3 to 8 grand at most fully equipped, they are really 2 different classes of cars,
the bottom line is: you get what you pay for.

I've decided it'll be a 6-speed, either the G35 or Accord coupe. To me the G has style, Xenon headlights and more HP but costs another 9k (32k vs. 41k out the door, both loaded). Other than price, the Accord's only advantage I see is the voice controlled system. Unfortunately, the Accord is just getting to the dealers now in trickles. Honda may shoot for over MSRP (making a dent in the 32k/41k price difference) when it gets them so I'm figuring on waiting for '04 models. To me 9k is a bunch but the value of class and style and some serious HP is worth something. As noted above, if you've got the $$, I suspect you'll be happier with the appeal of the G. If money is an issue and you have time to wait, you'll be hard pressed to be unhappy with the capabilities of the Accord. ...dean

Drive em ... you'll make your decision and I like everyone else here knows that 10g (tops) for what your getting is well worth every penny ... (if thats what you are looking for) ... if not .. hey .. the accord can be a pretty nice ride...
but stock ..side by side ..
10g's is very apparent ...even to someone who doesn't know a whole lot about cars and car components.
Take care

RamboRami, The 2003 3.0 6-speed Accord coupe was tabbed as a late release for February and looks like Honda is on schedule. The internet sales guy I spoke with said they had their first VIN and expected the car in a week or so then, one a month from there on for 4-5 months until the '04s come out. I think the 4cyl. is a 5-speed. If I can swing it, I'm going for the G. I seem to hang on to cars quite a while so my only concern is long term reliability of Infiniti cars. I know zero about them and until the G35 caught my eye, never paid attention to them. ...dean

wow your right. I thought honda finally offered the V6 in manual. That's -2 points for Honda.
I found out that I was missing so much with a front wheel drive car. Withought manual it takes away more of the fun.
