How much does it cost to insure a coupe?

Re: How much does it cost to insure a coupe?
I'm paying $930/year with GEICO, but I'm 46, married, and have a clean record. Back in the mid-eighties when I was single and had a couple of tickets and an accident on my record, I was paying over $2000/year in California on a Subaru hatchback! Your age, marital staus, and driving record have everything to do with it. Get a rate quote on a Sentra to see what effect the accident had on your record.

It all depends on WHICH county you live in. If the people living in your county sue each other a lot then be prepared to take it up the [censored]. A 40 years old guy with no accidents could be paying more that a 17 year old living across the street if the county ends on his house.
DAMN I wish I knew some in the next county so that I could use there address because the county really does end on my house!

You guys are still pretty lucky.. I'm 18 and i was looking into getting a supra TT this summer if I dont get the G (still saving up)..I live in NJ, no tickets and no accidents and i got quoted 6,174!!! a year!! thats way!! too much..another company gave me a quote that was 4,700 every 6months!!!! thats more than the car payment!!! It's close to impossible to get insurance when your my age in NJ.. =( I think the G might be even more since its a new car! thats the main reason i dont own one yet..STUPID NJ INSURANCE!!!!

350gtboi,
if i was an insurance company, and an 18 year old walked in like you wanting a Supra TT, i'd slap you with a hefty insurance rate too because all you'd look like to me is a liability, and chances are, i'd be correct.
anyway....25, nj, allstate, $830 annually for insurance. funny thing is, when i owned my 2k3 tiburon...the insurance for the tibby was like $1400 annually. gotta love the break allstate gives you for extra safety features and other things.

I know where your coming from because of my age i can be considered high risk but 6,200 a year is alot for a car that will be driven maybe 6 months out of the year. Neway maybe I can talk my parents into helping me out and putting me on their policy..

38, all my insurance through the same company (State Farm), clean record, no tickets or at-fault claims, $100 deductable, full collision/comprehensive $300K/$1Mil coverage, I pay $688/year.
Damn, someone paying $800/mo? Good lord I'd drive a Civic with just liability for a year or two; that's some serious money, enough to buy another loaded G in 4 years.
