The manual G doesn't get any better mileage than the auto as far as I know.

Lets not turn this into another auto vs manual thread...we all know how those end up.

From what I've seen in the real world, manuals historically get 2-6 mpg better economy than their automatic counterparts. This is due to the fact that an auto has a higher parasitic power loss than a manual tranny.

Take for instance my buddy's modded 6mt Z (i/h/e). He got about 26-28 mpg hwy on our trip back from Zdayz. He told me his mpg didn't really change after the mods. Yes, he drives it like an old man (because he is), but I couldn't even dream of getting more than about 22mpg in my auto, and that's downhill with a stiff tailwind! You'll find that manuals will get mid to upper 20s highway, while an auto will get low 20s highway.

Of course your mpg will vary depending on how you drive and your specific driving conditions, but an auto will almost always get worse mileage than an manual (not just Gs, but basically any car).
