60k service....is it worth it?

I know there's plenty of threads on this.....

However i'm approaching 60k and i want your opinion if it's worth taking it in for a major service or just do it myself (individually done at different shops, i.e. oil change, tranny service, diff service..)

I haven't had any major problems with the G, so i'm not sure if it's worth the 400 bucks at a shop.

just get a trans, diff, radiator, and oil change...you can change your own belts and spark plugs and cabin filter

Any maintenance that will help prolong the life of your car is well worth the money.

I'm showing 2.0 hours for the spark plugs in my labor guide. That means it should take about an hour.

I think I would save the spark plug money and buy better fluids.

Plugs aren't due until 105K. I would pull the plugs out, put a little anti sieze on the threads and some Die-electric grease inside the coil boot that slips over the plug

Change the engine oil. Change the trans oil if it needs it. That should cover you.

That is not correct, at 30k miles the stock plugs were fried on mine as well as 3 other cars we did them on...at 70k when i checked on my 2nd set they were fine...the first set were fried and had blow by on them...there is no reason to be cheap its not a civic

Changing the plugs is quite the pain! It takes a fair amount of time to move all of the wiring harnesses etc to access the plugs. I changed mine at 50k and they looked fine.

If I had to do it over again, I could probably do it in 90 minutes.

A 60K is considered a major service...If you don't want to get your hands dirty or don't know how to work on your car then have a good shop do it...If you don't want to pay dealership price then have an outside shop do it. Make sure they use nissan parts and they know how to work on Infiniti...

I noticed you are in Lake Forest. I'm in Irvine, do you have a shop that you'd recommend for this that isn't dealership.

Go to this dealership...They are G friendly and their prices are cheap and they use nissan parts...So, far everyone has been happy with their services...That's my recommendation...

PS...They are really cheap...Some dealership charges over 500-700 bucks for these services in other areas...Nocal some guy was being quoted 700 for 30K...

Interesting...
I used to get my stuff done with Heri and Frank in Tustin. Have you taken your car up to W. Covina for service from them?

No, because I have friends that are mechanic and I used to be one but I shipped my tools to my parents house so I just have my friends do it for me. I just buy the parts and beer and they do the rest...I just keep all the receipts...

But yo answer your question I have friends that did go there and they were happy with the service...
