Okay, here's an interesting scenario...my car just appeared on Infiniti's dealer inventory list today, HOWEVER, the price is $400 more than what is written on my purchase order! I certainly didn't order any more options after the fact. Is this typical? Will the dealer stick to the price on the purchase order?

A contract is a contract. You signed it for the price you negotiated. If you back out of the deal he can sell your car for whatever the market will bear. Obviously, he wouldn't advertize your negotiated price on the website (unless you negotiated above MSRP

But you should only have to pay what you negotiated. Just my opinion.

That might be because prices have gone up on things like splash guards. Though what price were you paying? MSRP is MSRP that shouldn't change on a car that already made!
