I went to get an estimate today. IT's going to be about $1,079. I took it to the garage the dealer in NJ takes it to. So I know it'll be good work since dealer takes it there.
The guy at the shop though was saying he gets 5 coupes damaged like that every month... he says he's not surprised.
I'm thinking of shaving the lock on the driver's side off, and depend solely on the wireless entry romotes to get in the car. Anyone ever done this?

The same thing happend to me 5 months ago . I also live in New Jersey. It cost me 500 dollers to fix the door key hole (paint job included). When i went to the car shop the repair man told me he had just fixed another G with the same problem a week prior. He said that they go through the key **** to get to the cylinder to unlock the door. He showed me exactly how they unlocked my door. It's actually really easy!......I've recently taken out the cylinder, key holes and just have a patch(like the one on the passenger side). The only way my doors unlocks and opens is through my after market alarm system.
P.S. if ur wondering about what to do if the battery in the car dies and your alarm doesnt work, you can take ur car to an electric shop and they can wire a positive and negative cord to any secret place u want on ur car(usually under the front bumper) so u can jump ur car enough so ur alarm will work again!

Ok i know this is a very old thread but i had a question about this. Could someone get in this way on the passenger side? someone took off were the lock would be (that little thing behind the handle)
I thought that it may have just fallen off because i did not know that someone could open the car that way. When i went to the dealer they said that that part would not just fall off while driving, so now im trying to figure out if someone just hit it or if they were really trying to get it.
thanks
