Too blue is an understatement.
Highly illegal (in the U.S.) + highly visible = high chance of getting stopped. It's already happened twice that I know of.

Real illegal. Not only will you be stopped for having blue lights, but how about car your being impounded and you are charged with impersonating a law enforcement officer. Major fines and jail time! In many states only vehicles authorized to have blue lights of any kind are those registered to a municipality or government.

Re: New Raybrig LED ... Too Blue
The largest part of any "coolness" factor is how unique/rare it is. In fact, "cool hunters" draw the line between cool and uncool where it becomes available to the general public for a reasonable price. In a blink, suddenly cool isn't so cool.
Do what you like; in the end that is all that really matters.

What? I think your over the line there, I see cars all the time with illegal blue lights and cops never pull them over, much less impounding your car.
Impersonating a police car? not unless you paint it black and white and putt a set of lights on your roof.
The worst thing that could happen is they give you a "fix-it" ticket for about $10. The same goes for tinted windows or now front license plate.
In fact your more likely to pay for a speeding ticket then that.
I know what I am talking about becuase I got a fix it ticket for not having a front plate on my old car. I got away with it for 6 years! It cost $10 and they just made me put it on, and show them the car. Then once I was out of there, off it came!

Re: New Raybrig LED ... Too Blue
1. Afro got stopped for blue clearance lights already, and so did another poster here, so in fact it does happen.
2. You have to take the inner fender partially out to get at them, so they're not extremely simple to change out.
3. Even "fix it" citations go on your record, they are just (usually) not moving violations and don't count as points for insurance and license suspension purposes. That said, if you get cited again for the exact same "fix it" violation (like your front plate) they will know about the first one and can make the consequences far worse than a $10 fee.
It's all just a gamble I guess, how much risk is involved vs. the coolness reward?
