Jacking the coupe
Jacking the coupe
I'm thinking pretty far ahead now, but I want to make sure I have the right equipment to switch off my winter wheels come April. I used the jack that came with the car last time and I sure as hell won't be using that thing again after hearing all the horror stories.
For the G35 coupe, do we need to modify the jack and jackstand to support the jacking points? The "Jacking your G" thread in the DIY section seem to suggest that. If so, how should we modify the jacks?
Thanks.

Re: Jacking the coupe
For a standard floor jack, I put two pieces of hardwood on the cup and it works fine.
If you have some extra cash, you can get a longbody floorjack for around $400, and jack up one entire end, put it on floor jacks, then do the other end and take off all four wheels at once.

Re: Jacking the coupe
i am actually in the procees of chopping my jackstands down to match the stock emergency jack. other people have just glued blocks of wood with a slit in it on the stands to match the stock emergency jack.
