Dilemma-Lease up on 35 not diggin 37

I'm sure this has been discussed to the death on here, but now since its my turn to rant I will take my 15 seconds.

Background
I bought an 04 6MT in June '04, then traded in last september for an 06 6MT for that 1 year lease deal special, hoping to get into a G37 when my lease expired. I felt that when the new styling came out, the G35 would depreciate much more and wanted to get the most out of my car as possible. Now that the G37 has been revealed, I'm not completely sold on it.
In order to buy more time, I extended my lease through IFS another 3 months until I can decide what to get.

My options:
1) Purchase my car at the end of the lease and hold onto it until something I really want is available. Prospects are 335, A5, IS350 coupe (if ever made).

2) Purchase/lease an 07 for dirt cheap, but wait at least 2 years for lease to expire to get into another vehicle.

3) Lease the G35 sedan for short term lease and enjoy the new car smell.

4) Suck it up and just get the d@mn G37 for 2 year lease and at least brag about the nice interior

Also, I am eligible for the VPP discount through my employer, which is always a good deal. When i purchased my 04 i got about 3K off, and my current lease deal was about $1200 total down (1st pmnt, blah blah blah) and $457/mo with 12k mi/yr. So this is also a factor when thinking logically with my money.

Anyone else in the same predicament as me? Any advice? Not sure if the G35 will depreciate any more now since most ppl still like the look of the original design.

HELP!

Well those weren't really my options, but since you have Optimus Prime in your avatar you do hold some credibility.

Look into the 335i Coupe or keep the 06 G35 and mod it

I would finance your remaining on your coupe. It's not worth picking up a g37 to grow to like it, I was in the same boat and realized what a dumb idea that would be. I love the interior, brakes, 3.7 but no way could i downgrade the look that much so I stuck it out with my g35.

Don't sleep on the BMW 1series coming out, BMW 135 will go for less then our g35's and smoke our coupes and a 335. It should be interesting to see.

Have you seen the G37 in person? I hear it looks better than the pics...I'll have to see one before making a final decision.

I'd wait for something you really want. Sounds like you really don't want the G35 since you are willing to give it up so easy. Give up the lease, buy a beater and wait until something you really want comes out.

Yes I saw a blue G37 in person at the dealership a few months back, and I thought it looked better than pictures, but still not floored like when I first saw the G35 coupe.

im in the same boat as you.
not too fond of the new g37's as i was with the g35's
so im lookin at the audi s5/a5 or bmw 335i/m3(depending on price)

so im just holding off till the s5 and the m3 come out and pricing is annoucned then i can make my decision.

i would say lease the 07 for short term or hold on to your car and get the car you want. first years aren't always so good...but the s5 and the m3 looks so damn good!

maybe while leasing the 07 you might grow to like it...

I agree with you.

The M3 is going to be in the mid $60k range. It was on caranddriver.com I believe. Very expensive, but definitely worth it

Audi, well they are good cars. I've never been impressed with their interiors. Cramped and flimsy come to mind

I'd buy your G35 and keep it until there is something out there that you want. Get a 60 month loan—your payments will be CHEAP, giving you more financial flexibility. When you go to sell it, you'll easily be able to pay off the loan and have some $$$ left over for whatever. This is what I did with my 1999 Honda Prelude. I made a killing on it when I sold it. It helps that we have cars that are in high-demand!

What dont you like about the G37? I griped about the front bumper...until I saw that the 'base' model's bumper is just like the Gen1 coupes! Then I felt a little better about someday having a G37 in my stable. I DO NOT like that sport bumper with the 3 inlets—the outer two arent even functional! :P
