how to tell if satellite radio is installed or not?

I have SAT button on the BOSE system, but when you press it, it says NO SAT and then goes to FM station? Does this mean it isn;t enabled, or not installed?

It means your car is prewired for SAT. What you need to do now is buy either the XM or Sirius tuner, plug it into the plug in your trunk, call the SAT provider to activate your service and you're good to go.

You dont have it.
Just to make sure, Do you have a compartment above ur radio? If you have a flip up door, you dont have SAT. Then if you want it you need to buy a DIN unit. I have a sat button too with no satellite. You need more than a tuner, you need a sat unit.

Oh and I forgot to mention that you will have to buy an antenna as well.

The SAT tuner is in the trunk. If you have a flip open door above the radio, that indicates that you don't have navigation, not a satellite radio receiver.

Vintage Car, if your coupe is an 04 or later, it comes prewired. If it is an 03, a check of the VIN will tell you if it is prewired. If not, you need the $60 cable to wire up the SAT receiver to the head unit.

xm tuner

Where do I get an XM tuner. I've searched their website, but only see the recievers and a mini-tuner for home use. And do I need an antenna as well?
Something like this work?

You need the Nissan branded (made by Clarion) SAT receiver. Check out www.grubbsperformance.com and www.everythingg35.com.

xm tuner search continues

Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place, anyone have a part number for this XM tuner I need and the antenna. I did find the XM mini antenna on grubbsperformance but only see the XM reciever. I dind;t think I needed a reciever since my radio is Satellite Ready, I only need the XM tuner, right? Where do I get just the tuner?

I think the receiver they are talking about on Grubbs is the tuner, they are one in the same.

SAT antenna:

Since your car is prewired, not hard at all. You literally just plug in the tuner and run the wires for the antenna and you're done. Mine was prewired as well and it took me about 30-45 mins. from beginning to end. There are install instructions on Grubbs website you can print out.
