04 Coupe CRACKING SEATS?

I just noticed that my the bottom portion of my driver's seat is starting to crack. It isn't flaky yet, but I noticed a creasing forming on the side. Is there a way to prevent it from cracking further? Some kind of leather protector or something? If so, which brands do you guys recommend. Also, I want to protect my entire seats from sweat seeing how I forget to bring an extra shirt when I play basketball. I hear getting water or sweat is horrible for the seats. Is that true? How can I also prevent my seats from damaging from the sweat? Thanks in advance!

Not to hijack your thread or anything, but I got car wax on my seats (I was using the quick detail spray wax and I used the wrong towel when wiping down the seats) and the top of my driver's seat turned whitish (I have black interior). Armor all didn't take it off...

ArmorAll isn't a cleaner and you shouldn't use that krap on leather ever! Clean your seat with a light detergent carefully. If you have a Target store
in your area buy the zymol cleaner and zymol leather conditioner that will
take care of your leather seat for as long as you own your G. This will work
for you too Concret Zymol products are the best on the market and I'm
supprised that Target has the brains to carry quality stuff plus their automotive sections have gone down hill in the last five years since they
used to carry oil/filters and don't anymore.

Zaino also makes a nice leather conditioner, but if it's already cracking, there's not a whole lot you can do except perhaps slow it a bit. If it's close to torn, I would take it to the dealer and have them replace it if it's still under warranty.

I don't think there is anyway to avoid it. Conditioning will help keep the leather clean and soft but when stretching it by sitting down all the time, what can prevent stretching, not much. Just one of the other negatives of owning a G. But everything else makes up for it

I have the same crease on the lower seat bolster on the drivers side. What I'm more concerned about is that the foam inside is begginning to fall apart and the seat leather is getting very lose and somewhat flat. In another year or so it will look like crap!

Your car should still be under warranty for this problem......The foam cushion under the leather seat bottom is collapsing, and in doing so, its no longer giving the side bolster support ....thats why the seat material seems to be folding over on itself.

I had the same problem less than 2 years into ownership of my 04 coupe. I took it in to the dealer for a routine service, and brought it to the service writers attention. He ordered a new leather seat bottom along with the new (and maybe improved) foam seat cushion....It was all replaced under warranty. My seat still looks practically brand new....but I am more conscious of how I plop my butt in the car.....

Heres a pic of my replaced seat I took less than two months ago....still holding up fine....

I just called the Infiniti dealership and they said that they have to have a warranty administrator or something to have a look at the seat to see if it is still covered under warranty. I'm guessing they'll charge me. Do you think they'll give me new seats?

Here's a pic of my seat I was talking about:

That seat looks fine for a car that has almost 50k miles.

You want to see leather problems... have a look at ANY late 90's GM truck with leather seats.
