Manitenance cost??

Anyone know how much typical scheduled maintenence will cost? My German car is a bit expensive every time it needs an A or B service. We also had a Lexus that would cost a few hundred dollars for 15K mile visit and about $500 at the 30K visit.
Also, how much mileage will on get out of the tires and what would they cost? I'm asking before I decide on buying a new or used coupe and i'm truing to keep cost of ownership reasonable. I've seen used one with about 10K miles by wonder if the tires are way past their best days and I should figure the cost of a new set into mypurchse price.
Also, when are service visits spread out? is it 5K, 15K, 30K?

Any help appreciated.

Re: Manitenance cost??

Hey there! Well, I haven't quite reached any of the "typical" scheduled maintenance services yet (i.e. 15k miles)....I have a little under 11k miles. An oil change ran about $45.

To answer your other questions, mileage out of the tires is dependent on driving habits. People on the board have posted a wide range of what to expect from the tires.....I would say the average is about 20k miles. There are two service schedules: every 3750 miles and every 7500 miles.

Re: Manitenance cost??

i probably have one of the higher mileage coupes on the board. here's a summary of my experience so far:

every 3750 oil change (bring my own mobil 1) $25 or $40 if you use infiniti's oil & filter
every 7500 some people break down and rotate their tires $100 (i didn't do it)
15K mile service was around $250..
30K service was just done.. i didn't get everything done but all the major items. i also had new pads (i supplied) and the rotors turned as well as my borla exhaust installed. it was about $700 but i had a coupon. i think 30K service is normally about $500.

my rear tires lasted 20K miles and the fronts are about to be replaced. all the brake pads needed to be replaced at 30k.

Dang! I better start saving up for the 15k & 30k services! Man my 98 Accord never came close to those kind of maintenance costs...

$100 for 10 min on a lift to rotate tires? Huh? You're kidding right?

Re: Manitenance cost??

hmmm....guess you're new here

coupe wheels have different sizes front and rear. They need to be dismounted from their rims. Switched from one side to the other, and re-mounted and balanced..THEN they get put back on the car.

$100 for four tires sounds about right. We don't have it as lucky as you sedan owners.

Re: Manitenance cost??

thanks.....have the eibachs altered alignment much for you? i heard camber is set at factory and can only be adjusted using some adjustment plates that can be expensive.
it sounds like oyu haven't necessarily had terrible tire wear though.

Re: Manitenance cost??

the coupon was good for 15% off of 30K service but they also applied it on the brakes and exhaust install (i brought in donuts for the service department). it came in the mail with a few other coupons for service.

i assume the dealership just had my address on file.

Re: Manitenance cost??

i'm actually getting the springs and wheels put on this week. the tire place doing the install has done a few G's and supposedly they can get the camber very close to specs without camber rods.

Re: Manitenance cost??

I will do all the major maintenance services myself. Dealers, especially luxury car dealers, charge a small fortune for the 15k, 30k, 50k, services. And there's really not much to them. Learn how to do it yourself, and you can save a lot of money.

But the single most expensive maintenance item on this car will be the tires. Pilot Sports are freakin expensive as hell, and they don't last that long (no performance tire does).
