Foot touches steering underbody

Hello ppl ... this is my 2nd posting, on a 2 week old G35C 6MT!!

And here's my q: When my foot is on the brake pedal, my shoe's top always touches against the underbody cover of the steering assembly (my feet are size 10, so nothing "large" as such!). I've tried to adjust the seat in various ways, but found no big difference.

Does anyone else have this same issue?

Are you saying that you brake with the heel of your foot?

Why would anybody do that? It's easier to control the movement of the ball/toes of your foot (only using ankle movement) than it is to use your whole leg to press down on the brake using your heel.

yea..dont use your whole leg...i have size 11 ..and dont touch...takes more effort to lift your whole leg than to just move your ankle

dTor: nice one But, no I only use the ball/toe on the pedal. however the toe of my shoe touches against the underside of the steering assembly.

Plus, I'm not moving my whole leg either, just the ankles. While engaging the brake, my heels hardly ever leave the floor.

I'll take my car in the see if the assembly is slacking more than normal.

thanks all!

Yeah what the hell does that mean?

To the OP: I also find it odd how that would happen as I wear a size 10 and it just seems really weird b/c i don't think mine gets anywhere close.

check to see if the bottom panel got uncliped somehow, it may just need to be pushed up to snap back in place

I had a similar problem but with the gas pedal (wearing certain shoes) Shortly after I got the car I found the low spot on the plastic underbody, drilled a small hole, used a plastic tie clip to pull it up and attached to large wiring harness above the underbody. It works by pulling the underbody piece up an inch or so. Here are a couple of quick (bad) pics. Careful drilling not to go into the wires and ensure your hole is far enough away (to the left) so the tie clip won't interfere with your foot area. You can probably do a better job with the clip than I did. First time looking at it that well from pics. Gotta clean that grease off there too. LOL

Just do what I did and trim the plastic piece that your toes are hitting with a pair of scissors!

Perfect fix for the size 13's. Never had the problem again.
