G35 Smoother ride

hey all,

Since the day i got my G35 coupe with the sprt package and 19'' wheels my ride is too bumpy, i could feel every rock in the road, i understand its a sprts package but is there any way to make my ride a little more comfortable? (springs etc...) what will do the job?

thanks alot

hmm, I'm on 19's and I love the feel. You could go with some adjustable shocks and struts and set it at the higher(softer) end????

Better ride from the G35......?

When we have small sidewalls the quality of ride takes a hike. Make sure
the next time you check the tire pressure it's not above the recomended
lbs pressure. The tire store where I had my Volks installed wanted to put
40 lbs in my tires. Within 6 blocks I knew it was a mistake so when I got
home I took them back to 35 lbs that I've always run....better ride!

You can always bump the tire size up a little...but it will only marginally help at best. New spring and shocks are typically designed for an even more sporty ride...but you can adjust them, on many that is, to be softer.

Are you sure your feeling the bumps as much as you are hearing them or the related road noise?

I feel you bro...after upgrading to the 19's from stock 17's the ride has dramatically became bumpier and the car feels stiffer... There might be a way to tighten the shocks as far as torsion but who knows...

For those running the stock 19's and bridgestone tires can you tell me what amount of pressure you keep in them for optimal ride and wear...Keep in mind I also live in FL so the heat cause it to expand...

OK - first off - the Bridgestone tires that are stock - SUCK as far as ride quality is concerned.

Get Toyo T1R's or if you got the dough - Michelin SP2's. The ride will smoothen out decently and be MUCH quieter as well. The Michelin's are the best for lasting and traction and all around use. The T1R's come real close - last long, but the grip isn't quite the same as the Michelin - but if your not going nuts in the car..it won't matter.

EDIT for tire pressure: I use 36 up front and 38 for the rear...

Doesn't the tein H-techs for G35(not H-techs for 350z) has softer spring rates than OEM? Maybe this would help?

You get about the same results as good tires - BUT, you'll then have to begin to worry about camber wear and alignment issues too...this coming from the guy who went with 3 sets of springs before going with Tein coilovers ;-)
