pro: it keeps you alive, to a certain extent.

con: when you do crash and live, you're gonna wish you were dead.

it's basically common sense. If it's raining/snowing etc, have it on. If it's dry and you want to be a little more "speedy" have it off, just don't drive like a total a$$.

noob but interesting question. Does having it on restrict the power capcity (TB doesnt open all the way, etc) or does it just allocate power to each brake and is like traction control at the same time?

well i have an 04 coupe as well.. but most people dont know is that when you turn the VDC off it techneically is still on.. there is a relay switch that in a situation you do loose it it will cut the output of the engine and apply brake or what ever it does.

Vehicle Dynamic Control will help traction control - but at a limited rate - it is NOT a Traction Control System. The new G's have VDC and TCS. VDC will help to control wheel spin at launch - so if your racing, turn it off and start in manual mode, for an AT and then once your launched just move it back to drive.

The VDC system monitors yaw and other angles, as well as wheel speed.

With VDC off ABS is still on.

VDC monitors two things - wheel slip and yaw. If a wheel slips, the system will attempt to stop the slippage by reducing throttle and possible braking (depending on severity).

If the system detects the car is out of control (from the yaw sensor) it will cut throttle and brake which ever tires need to braked to regain control of the car.

When VDC is doing its thing you have NO throttle control at all, so it can be a bad thing if you are crossing traffic and it kicks in.

VDC is a system designed for a new generation of drivers who never learned to drive RWD vehicles. If you can drive a RWD vehicle and know how they handly you can leave it off at all times. If you learned to drive on a FWD vehicle you should leave it on unless you want to spin the tires.

A company called KPtechnologies makes a module that adds a memory to the button so you don't have to shut it off every time you start the vehicle.

Nice explanation... it can spook you when you expect the car to do "normal" things...

For the "off-road" enthusiasts are you any closer to the defeat mod?... I see the VDC memory mod is production now but how about the complete defeat?... This of course would not be for public roads... Kevin - us AT guys need this mod! Is it gonna happen or should I look to the various DIY offers?... I've been waiting for something that might come from your camp... a certain guy initials T.C. implied several eons ago that you might be the one to do such a thing...

Rambling on a bunch sorry - but I know I'm not the only one that would buy this.

Our bypass module didn't work as expected on the 5at, so we gave up on it for now. I can't find a 5at locally to work with and we were doing all the testing over a cell phone (which can be very frustrating).

yeah - I figured as much... I posted as such in a thread about your/their current VDC mod I had a feeling since it was listed as memory it didn't do this... is it an ECU snafu?... must be... any prognosis?... I'm very hopeful!
