Driver seat leather replacement

I just had the drivers seat leather replaced due to the TSB tear in corner. The leather is not as tight around the corners as it was from the factory. In addition the plastic piece around the bottom does not fit flush to the seat like it does on the passenger side. There is a really big gap between the leather and plastic piece at the bottom were it curves around the front. Does anyone have any suggestions. I checked the clips and screws and they all seem tight. Maybe the leather has to break in ?. What are your suggestions.

Yeah, there's a TSB regarding the leather and how it tears due to part of the plastic underneath the leather tearing through the seat, because it's too sharp. The tears usually occur at the back part of the lower left of your seat bolster. You know, the left side of your driver's seat, in the back corner, near the junction of the seat back and the seat bottom?

I'm having issues in this spot on my seat as well, but it's not torn yet.

I had the leather replaced; however they did a ****ty job putting the new one in. It is not tight and has creases. It is also not right were the seat adjustments are. If I knew it would look like this I would of rather delta with the rip. I am going to call them back tomorrow.

I recently noticed this tear and I just mentioned it to the dealer yesterday and they will replace it next week. Thanks for the heads up, I will try to take a pic how it is now and after they replace it.

I had my seat bottom replaced, and at the beginning the leather was a little loose, in time it re-tightened.

You could take the car to an upholsterer, who should be able to put the replacement on correctly. I don't think that reupholstering a seat is high on the list of things I would trust a dealership to do right.

I had them do TSB too for my car. So far, it's looks like the original. Although, the leather does feel a bit thinner (or softer) than my original seat bottom.

I'm having my bolster replaced next week due to it disintegrating and causing the leather to get lose. My leather is still good so they are just replacing the bolster.
