Cleaning underside of car?

For those of you who drive your G's in the winter, is it important to clean the underside of the car to get the road salt off? The only way to do this is to go to the automatic car wash, but i dont want to scratch my rims. I've been keeping my car clean by trying to handwash it in my garage. I remember seeing once a carwash that had a lift to clean the underside, but I dont remember where that was? Anyone in NYC area know of such a place? Any thoughts?

Re: Cleaning underside of car?

There are some "touchless" carwashes around here but lets face it there is no way that they are gonna get the car clean without using a brush. Most of the time it's some Broom looking thing that has been used to wash cars all day. The good thing about these places is that the insode is touchless. I have been considering taking the G to one of those and specifically telling them not to touch it. I Just want it to go through and get a good rinse off. I think they have a sprayer that hits the bottom of the car while it's in there. As for the concern about the rims I would let them know that your worried about it and if they say it's a bad Idea then go to another one. But make sure you mention it B4 it goes through otherwise god forbid something does happen you'll be SOL as they usually could care less if your car is messed up.
