an evo9 with 3 boltons runs low 12s all day...I mean **** TT G's barely run high 12's

What are you talking about, TT G's can run 11's I'm sure, they can get past 500rwhp even more with builds.. Evos don't even get near 300 with 3 bolt-ons.. Tell me how that makes sense. You seriously think an Evo with 3 bolt-ons can beat a TT G?

 

Evos can run mid to low 12th with
Boost controller - set to the maximum the stock turbo supports which is around 20-22 psi
Bigger downpipe
Bigger Exhausts
And 100 octane unleaded fuel

with some good driving on a cold night...

 

Listen kid you obviously dont know much about cars let alone turbo cars or Evo's for that matter...

I drive an 03 Evo 8...before I upgraded my turbo I made 385AWHP on the stock turbo with just bolt ons...I ran an 11.8 @ 119 mph...

Now were not even talking about the Evo 9 which makes HUGE gains off of just a simple reflash(150$), Manual boost controller(100$), and an open downpipe(free)...An Evo 9 with 250$ in it will yield low 12's all day with 110+ trap speeds. I will bet my life that your NA G35 could not POSSIBLY hang with a car like this...sorry but you have to face the facts that the G35 is a classy luxury sports car...The Evo is a RACE CAR, simple is that its built for Optimal SPEED and HANDLING where it out performs the G35 in every single possibly way as far as performance goes.

And please we all here know that a TT G35 WITHOUT A BUILT MOTOR is barely running 12's...granted it may trap 113 mph traction is a huge issue from down low so without slicks or drag radials most the time TT G35's will run 13s.

My buddies bone stock Evo 9 ran a 12.9 at the track the other night and im sure there are ppl with even better times. Trying to compare performance between an Evo and a G35 is just ludicrous. Your comparing a LUXURY SPORTS CAR to a RACE CAR...Unless your dumping 30k++ into your G35 your not getting anywhere near the performance of a moderately modded Evo 9.

Get a reality check and learn a few things about cars before voicing your ignorant opinion next time.

Yup agree with all that evos are beast...except that ive seen many FIed Gs running faster than 13s with stock interals, not sure what Gs and who tuned the ones you have seen.

 

I was about to purchase an RX-8 (love those things) but reliability issues got my dad who cosign for me worried. Other wise i wouldve purchased the RX-8 =) But i'm happy with my G. I think it is a good choice in the long run, cause i think ill have flooding issues with the RX-8 right off the lot (winter and i didnt know how to drive MT yet =P)

I doubt you know enough of modified VQ's to state stuff such as what you just stated. There's a Single Turbo G35 running 12.5 @ 113 with "only" 340 rwhp on the stock block(98Intrigue).

I agree with the fact that EVO's are so higly modable for a relatively low price-per-mod. That's the greatness of having a stock turbo on a factory car with AWD.
I agree that comparing a G35 to an EVO is an awkward & wrong comparison; one car is a race car, the other is a luxury sports coupe.

But that last statement is as rediculous as the comparison between a luxury car to a race car; a G35 Coupe with 30K in engine mods & slicks/drag radials would obliterate a moderately modded EVO.

Can I ask you where you got that 30k number from? Becuase it seems like you just threw in a random guess. I haven't even heard of anyone spending that much money on just the engine for a VQ; 22k tops is the most I've ever heard of. And they're trapping over 125 mph With 30K in engine modifications, I'd expect a 10 second VQ trapping over 130 mph.

PS. What did your buddies bone stock trap in his 12.9 run? Must have been a really cool night with great driving. EVO's have a much better ET in comparison to their TRAP because of that great AWD traction. I have a friend with a modified EVO 8 who hasn't taken it to the drag strip yet

 

Ok first of all...G's with just a simple bolton turbo or TT are on average running low 13's and high 12's on a very good run...Im not saying 12's arent possible with a bolton TT kit because they very much are but because of traction issues most of the time they are stuck running low 13's with high trap speeds 112++...

A moderately modified evo 9 is what I consider being a full bolton car custom tune etc...which would run mid-high 11's all day long EASY and be a comfortable daily driver....now for a G to be running mid-high 11's you are going to have to BUILD the motor and run an aggressive tune on a Turbo kit and run slicks or drag radials...now you and I both know this is easily going to cost around 25 grand to do...I mean **** a catback exhaust on these cars cost $1100++!!!

All I want to say is I want you guys to stop thinking im hating on the G like I said im BUYING ONE to replace my EVO!!!! I was just trying to make the point that comparing the performance of an Evo and a G is absolutely ridiculous.

Dude, you need to stop living your life at a 1/4 at a time. I'd take my G over a modded evo on a track any day. Notice I said TRACK. Not the strip.

 

i bought my g cause its pure sex...end of story.......and evos are ugly i smoked those things in my old turboed hatch all day long and that was after spending 10k/car included......just thought id add a lil more to the **** talking goin on in here

 

true, what an interesting thread this has become, G35 owners have a lot of anger, I think I’ll just go with an Audi S4…JK
