Quote: EZZ, your setup is interesting and a novel way to protect the seat. i think that the key objective is to protect the littler person riding in the carseat, not the rear seats.

just a suggestion: may want to take it to your local police/firefighter for an inspection to see if your setup passes their test. let me know what they say--if it's alright, i would be interested in your setup. can you post some pics?
I think you are right about protecting the infant rather than the seats I used the board and cloth because I wasn't using a base on the seat...just hooking the infant seat directly to the seatbelt. The bottom of the infant seat is in direct contact with the protector but in the event of a crash, offers no frictional resistance to moving forward (contact patch between infant seat and car seat is minimal). The only resistance will come from the seat belt itself (which is good enough...i can't budge the car seat once in place).

I just bought a new seat with seat belts so maybe I will install the base to offer more protection.

Bump this old thread to see about updated info... Many of the product links don't work anymore and the Infiniti page posted above has info for the 08+ Coupe.

I just bought an '06 G coupe an have a 6 yr old and an 11 month old. The booster (bottom only) for the older daughter doesn't quite fit, it's a little wide so it doesn't sit snug in the bucket. I need to find a booster with a narrow bottom for the coupe's skinny seats.

The infant carrier is alright for now, but she'll be forward facing soon so I'm curious what others are using. We usually take my wife's FX35 for family outings, but want to make sure they're covered if we have to take my car.
