Sticker

I heard someone say if you get a ticket for having an expired inspection sticker, insurance premiums will go up. Have any of you heard of that too? Need to know.

BTW, my g coupe got bumped into by some1 in Chinatown today when it was parked. Damn f**k*rs, people need to learn how to park. My car is only 6 days old with 200 miles. And also when I was getting back to my car, them ticket fairies just finished writing me a ticket for not having a inspection sticker.

Re: Sticker

Whoa whats up boston!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah don't park in chinatown anymore with that coupe... park in garage or bum rides. Like at SSP park far away as possible and walk into the mall.

Anyways inspection sticker is so easy to appeal. Just get the inspection sticker... then keep that paperwork they give you... go to court and say your car was only 6 days old... and you already gotten the sticker and show them the paperwork that you passed inspection.

You're suppose to be allowed about 7 - 10 days to get the sticker.

Once you show the judge the paperwork on the sticker they will just dismiss it. WHY PAY THE 50 bucks when you can get it appealed. I dont know about the insurance though. Where was the bump and what is the 411 (color 6mt?)on your coupe so i will know to beep at you when i drive by =)

Re: Sticker

All tickets that show up on your MVR can affect your insurance. Why would you paralell park a G anywhere? especially Chinatown?

In Texas, only moving violations go against your premiums. I'm sure someone will chime in with their .02 if I'm wrong.

Re: Sticker

I got a dg 6mt coupe grphite leather, pretty much stock everything so far but in march it will be a different story. I have no aero kit, i didn't really like the spoiler. But its weird, that day, I saw two coupes. One of em was parked right in the middle of Chinatown, it was a red auto with spoiler and when I parked some ip coupe drove right by me. I think it was auto too with spoiler.

Dopeymon-Whats your car like?

Re: Sticker

Why didn't the dealer provide the inspection and sticker before delivery? Is there something different in the People's Republic of Mass?

Re: Sticker

its your choice if you want the dealer to do all the paper work and stuff, such as getting your own liscence plate. You can't get sticker without the plates first.

Re: Sticker

ny and nj don't count non-moving violations against insurance.

Re: Sticker

Willcg and Dopeymon, congrats on getting your g35s.

I don't know about whether insurance premiums will go up for that violation - I wouldn't think so, but as Dopeymon said, you should be able to win an appeal to that citation.

Here's a link to the FAQ for inspection stickers from the Mass. RMV (their website actually has *a lot* of useful info available):
http://www.state.ma.us/rmv/inspect/question.htm

and it specifically says:
"Does a dealer have to provide a sticker on my new vehicle before I drive away?

No, although many new car dealers provide this as a service, you are allowed 7 days to obtain an inspection sticker from the station of your choice. "

So if you'd only had your car for 6 days you should be ok. Just bring some paperwork that shows the date when you picked up the car. Or, if you registered it yourself after picking it up, your registration should work also.

Sorry to hear about the new car being bumped. I hate parallel parking my car anywhere just for that reason. If you have any damage check out the detailing forum for tips on how to repair it.
