Body Side Moldings

do u guys think these look good on our cars. i see that most do not have them, but some ppl think the car looks too plain on the side w/out them. the one huge advantage my dad thinks they have is that they would protect the car from other morons who swing their doors too far and smack the car. (although we park a zillion miles away from everybody everywhere when we can!) just curious as to wut u guys think. thanx.

Define "our cars" - you do not own one!

Re: Body Side Moldings

I think they make the car look more ordinary and provide very little in ding protection. I skipped them.

Re: Body Side Moldings

On the contrary-

I think they look great. As far as I'm concerned, they tend to "break up" the large door panel giving the car a more streamlined look. Perhaps they look better with some color schemes and not others, but I'm definitely glad I got the BSMs with my coupe.

I agree with the above. They look bad and don't give much protection. It would need to be another low sports car to prevent damage. Every ding I've seen on a coupe has been along the door handle line, give or take a couple of inches.

Blitzjb: this is the father of I_Got_Evo. The kid does own a car, and if I remember correctly, you are that loser whose hobby was FOOD, which means you are fat AND bald, and sell insurance. Al Bundy has you beat pal.

I like them. I think they make the side of the car look better. I don't know if they would actually help door dings or not.

Re: Body Side Moldings

I don't think people should scowl others who don't have the car and browse the forums, no offense.

I was a member of ClubSi for 3 years, and never got the car.
I was also a member of rx8club for 1 year and a half, and never got the car.
I was a member of here for 2 weeks, and bought the G35.

It's always good to share and learn. Not to sound like a geyser or anything, but i'm serious

Re: Body Side Moldings

Hey guys, be nice! I just got in trouble over a misunderstanding, and being mean!
Who cares if he own a G or his dad owns it. He likes the car and thats why hes here. Why would a kid ask about "side body molding" if he was here just to jerk us around. I think if post would be titled "Just killed a Aston Martin with a stock G" if he was here to cause trouble!

I think this that these rude comments are uncalled for and immature. Grow up! If you don't have something nice to say, don't say it at all.

I dont like the moldings.. The body of the G is soo nice and the moldings make it look like a cheap car.... keep the movement of the car fluidlike...... Got my spoiler on today and WOW... Love it....

Dear Dad of Evo: I see the apple doesnt fall far from the tree. Contrary to your belief: Al Bundy sold shoes not insurance. I am actually in pretty good shape, and have a full head of hair. I just dont sell insurance - I own an Insurance Agency. Before you disparage a profession, What exactly do you do for a living ? Keep up the good work with providing your son with good examples - perhaps you should spend some time going over his homework - we have all seen his grammar and spelling skills on these boards.
