Tiny Problem

so i left my pepsi can on top of my car as i drove off cuz i forgot it was up there. when i stopped the can rolled down my windshield and spilled inside my engine from the top of the hood right under the windshield wipers where theres vents into the engine. pepsi spill inside it. is there gonna be a problem with my engine or anything else? anything i can do to better the situation? i poured water where the pepsi spilled, but thats all. or is this something i shouldnt be worried about? pepsi does have sugar tho...

I dont think that it actually spilled IN your engine maybe on it, but I dont think it is possible to get it in it...but filanj is right for the engine just use simple green and clean it off and definately wash your car in the areas the pepsi spilled cuz acid is not good for paint!

Pepsi + Engine = major catastrophe. I heard about a guy who did that once, he took out an entire subdivision. Something to do with the acidic PH of Pepsi mixing with gasoline. Think you might want to call Mythbusters and get their take on the situation.....

did it spill into the air inlet vents for the cabin? if so you may be in trouble as the pepsi in there may lead to a foul smell in the cabin eventually

it should just really get a bit sticky inside, but it should be ok. the wire harness and the plugs are designed for water damage, so it should be fine.

i went to the dealership to get an oil change today and they washed my car and all, but i still see spots on my hood. it MIGHT be from the pepsi, but im not sure because theres a few other spots all around the car. could it be that they didnt really do a great job of washing or could it be the pepsi? seems like it would come off if i scrub it hard enough? what do you guys think?

Don't scrub. You'll end up with light scuffs or swirl marks. Use something like ScratchX which is a very light polish. It'll take out any light marks or stains even though it is designed for light scratches. Otherwise, you can move a step up and use a polish or rubbing compound to restore the shine.
