Installed THX SS shift **** yesterday

I just wanted to share my experience.

I ordered the shift **** from forged performance and the **** arrived two days later. The first thing that I noticed was that **** was package very well, wrapped and then stuffed with packaging material.

The **** is very well made, after unpacking it I looked it over and it was flawless. The lines on the **** are very distinct and clean... I was really happy with it.

I went out to my car to remove the exiting shift ****. OMG... are you kidding me. I am 6'7" 265lbs... so by know means am I weak... but DANG... I had to take a wrench to get some leverage to get the **** twisting. It was definately not as easy as I had hoped it would be.

Once I finally mutilated and removed the stock shift **** (please tell me if anyone else ruined there stocker when taken it off) I easily screwed on the new one. The **** fits like a glove. The flat transition piece to the top of the boot is the perfect size. You can tell that this piece was specifically deisgned for the car. I love the way it looks.

I went out for a test drive. I have pretty big hands, so it took a second to get used to the smaller cylinder type shifter. The way the piece is cut is very comfortable. I grip with my top two fingers and leave the bottom two off. Very comfortable after one hour of stop and go traffic on the way to work today.

As far as performance.. I am a true believer in the butt dyno. After I wash my car or change the oil... it IS faster I felt like the notchiness shifting into second was eliminated. but that could just be wanting it to be gone

All in all I am very happy with the shift ****, fit and finish are excellent and the feeling is great. I don't belive that any shift **** alone is going to make your shifts that much cleaner or more crisp than stock... so I am judging it on look and feel... and I give it a 10. And it is a good thing I like it because my OEM **** is a mess.

Big thanks to THX for spending the time to come up with such a well made, perfect fitting product!!

Tim

My oem **** came off fine. Cresent wrench with rag, channel locks/rag underneath on shifter to back up.
It had resistance all the way off, but was no big deal.

Love the **** myself, especially in combo with the Rogue SS.
Talk about quick short shifts

Was the Rogue SS hard to install...? NOTE: I am handy just didn't expect to require so much force to remove the stock shift ****.

I thought the same thing when I first saw it... but I really like the look of it on the car. I wouldn't leave it sitting on the kitchen counter when company comes over... that is for sure. That would be tough to explain...

Gotcha...no worries. Just surprised to hear your oem **** became thrashed taking off.

And no...the Rogue SS is a piece of cake as long as you're somewhat mechanically inclined and can follow simple instructions.
Only hard part was getting under the G and to re-seat the rubber boot back in it's grooves.
On a lift that wouldn't been an issue, but on my back, under my G in my driveway on jacks made it difficult to see all side of the boot grooves.

Plus I'm not thin like I used to be with thin fingers anymore. Additionally, my eye sight is shot up close to things.
It's a bitch working on cars when you're my age and over the hill...
