Anyone had one done? I have a chip that has suddenly grown into a crack.

I have a nice quarter size chip and a very minute crack. I just know that the dealer wants over $800 for the windshield and probably $100 or so for the labor. I'm not sure if Gs need another gasket .

 

Most insurance policies have windshield coverage with a lower deductible. My deductible is only $50 to replace a windshield.

Yup the insurance companies have lower deductibles on the windshield. You should check your policy. The dealer will charge around $800 or more just for the windshield. Installation is a whole different story

My original windshield lasted 45 days before a rock impact left a crack from the top of the windshield to the bottom directly in my line of sight. I could not find an OEM or EEM windshield locally, so I had the dealer replace the glass. The cost was $945 installed. My insurance deductible was $250. I have had my new windshield for a little over a month, and I already have noticed several debris impacts that have nicked the glass without actually leaving a crack. I have also noticed a few nicks on my driver side window. I guess that is what I get for living in a rock infested desert.

ABQ_G35 just had his windshield replaced (couple weeks ago).
