Re: Hitch Install for Bike Carrier

The dealer here in San Antonio, Texas has a shop that custom installs one. And it looks very good. Only thing you see is the small box. I am going to get one installed on my Sedan in the next couple of weeks. I have a Jetski I have to pull. I have no choice.

Re: Hitch Install for Bike Carrier

Optimax,

I'm almost guaranteed to be in on the deal but...

1. it' has to be hidden *like hidden hitch style, so it's not affecting the aesthetics of my car
2. it has to be able to also have the capability of a light adapter (or plug for brake light). Reason why is because I have a "tail hook hitch" that will drop on my command when i step on the brake... it's really cool... drops down just like the tail hooks on fighter jets landing on air craft carriers

What exactly is involved with a hidden hitch style install? I saw on one site where a guy drilled some holes. I thought maybe it should take advantage of existing bolts. Don't like the idea of structural changes.

AirWarrior and John:

I think Mark normally spends more time on FA than here. If you post there, it might get a faster response.

There is quite a bit of info in this thread.

The bike rack he is talking about is made by Bird Automotive.
