Hi, I own a 2004 G35 Coupe Base Model. I was wondering if its possible for me to retrofit an OEM GPS Navigation? Will I change a lot of things?

 

its possible but i heard that its goin to cost so much money to install! ppl on the thread said its better off goin with a aftermarket double din kit..would be alot cheaper!

 

you have to replace the entire main wiring harness with the navi equipped harness whihc will require dissassembly of pretty much the entire dash

You wouldn't even want the OEM Nav from the '03 and '04 years unless it was given to you for unbelievably cheap. The OEM Nav is pretty outdated and extremely expensive... plus you have to buy expensive Zenrin DVD updates if you want to update the map data to something more recent(they're like $200-300 for a DVD). The nice thing is that it has built in fuel economy monitoring... but as far as an overall functional navigation system, you could buy a system that is 5x more impressive for about 1/3 of the amount that it would cost you to retrofit the OEM stuff into your car.
