ATTN: ALL 03-05 G coupes

I dont post much on here, but what i have to say might be kind of important. A few of my friends and I included have an issue with our non projector lights having a crack in the housing that seperates the low beam light from the high beam light. I went to infiniti and talked to even the corporate about this but it seems like they do not want to fess up about their poor quality headlights. I went to the dealer today and saw two 05 coupes for sale with the same problem that i am having i will post pics of what im talking about when i get home. I just want to get an idea of how many other people have this problem and see if we can get it replaced under a recall because i am over my warranty by a 100 miles and they say they wont fix it for free. IF ANYONE WANTS TO MAKE SOMETHING HAPPEN GO TO WWW.NHTSA.COM AND FILE A COMPLAINT. OR IF ANYONE ELSE HAS ANY IDEA WHAT TO DO PLEASE FEEL FREE TO MENTION IT. I AM REALLY UPSET ABOUT HOW INFINITI DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THIS SITUATION AND WOULD REALLY LIKE TO GET IT RESOLVED. (MAYBE EVEN SOME FREE PROJECTORS ) THANKS AGAIN SORRY ABOUT THE LONG TEXT.

I had the same problem with both lights and they replaced both lights under warranty. I'm glad I caught it just in time because the warranty was like 300 miles away from being up.

I have the same problem on both headlights too but didn't notice it until my warranty had already expired.

I haven't noticed this, but what results from this crack? Is visibility reduced in any way?

replaced under warranty, no hassle getting them to do it. they didnt align the new housings, left my bumper loose and managed to break my seat frame (huge guy to porter the cars around).

Before you have a embolism over it, everybody is swapping their headlights for projectors, you can replace your housings for under 100. thats freaking incredible... they used to go for $$$$. Or just go for projectors for <300.

Sucks its not covered... but... its sort of a waste of time to have it fixed with the same lights. And, after dealing with the dealership (Grubbs is supposed to be one of the best), i would have rather just done the work myself. So, sucks you have to drop any coinage on it, but really, its an opportunity to get better lights or fix yours on the cheap. not that big of a deal

its completely cosmetic. when the lights are on, you cant see it either, so actually cosmetic is sort of a stretch too. Doesnt affect anything and you cant really see it unless you look. But I, like alot of poeple, just wanted it not to be cracked, as it shouldnt be. But, it was more hassle than it was worth. the only upside is getting new housings that are shiny and new, no chips.. that was the only gain.

Just as I thought. I haven't noticed any cracks, but this being the first I have heard of them, I didn't know to look. If I do happen to find my headlights cracked, it will just give me more reason to install the projectors I have sitting in my basement...

I have a crack on my passenger light. I just thought it was the result of me running over a tire that cracked my front lip. But regardless, I personally didn't notice until I took it out to put in the '06. I probably wouldn't care much, since its on the inside and barely noticeable.

I had the same issue on my 04. The dealership replaced them for free, but attributed the cracks to my aftermarket fog/high bulbs.....they said they generated too much heat and they cracked as a result. They gave me new fog/high bulbs as well.

They even took out my Piaa extreme white clearance bulbs and replaced them with new clear bulbs..

I had cracks in both of my 04s headlights and they were replaced under warranty. It's quite common.
