Sell your G and get a GT-R34?!??!
Haha jtrain....I wouldn't get it. god knows what you have to do to them if it's not already street legal here. To many mods and to much crap to be done, if he's already taken care of that, I still wouldn't.
There's a few things to look at even before you begin to seriously think about doing this.
First, if the G is your only car and is your daily driver, then like everbody says, don't do it. Unsless you have $ put aside for a new motor. Even though it's a non-turbo, it's probably had the living sh*t driven out of it.
Second, is the car already street legal for the US. If you plan to finance the Skyline, it must be street legal. Many places won't finance a car that you can't drive on th streets, so if the car isn't street legal yet, be prepared to pay in cash for the car.
So if you're seriously considering this, just be prepaired for all the things that come along with having this car. Doing this would be like selling a current model year car and buying an old muscle car to restore. It also takes the same amount of time and care as a much older car would.
If i had the chance, I would do it. Having this car just sets you apart from everybody on the road. If you do it right and take care, I think it's all worth it. That's my $.02. Whatever you decide though, good luck!
