seat memory set up for Coupe

Hey everybody...just a heads up....
I was over at the 6mt forum and came across this thread for
a seat memory chip that installs in the dual climate control spot on non-premium cars....maybe you should check it out!

It looks really factory original...and makes me wish I didn't have the dual control.

Whoa! Lets keep tabs on this thread. What a great idea. It also looks like a switch can also be done for those of us that have the premium package.

Re: seat memory set up for Coupe

That's a sweet setup, but unfortunately it can't provide a memory function for the tilting of the seat. That's what I would really like to see. And yes, I know, it can't be done because there is no motor for the tilt function...I'd still really like to see it though!

Re: seat memory set up for Coupe

If our seats were built like the BMW seats, where the tilt can be adjusted with both a mechanical lever and an electronic switch.. If only...

It would be great to see it actually done...with full motion.

There will be a lot of things this setup will NOT do. No steering wheel adjustment. While possible, I'm sure (since he also hasn't mentioned it) that there will be no mirror adjustments. Pretty much should only adjust the seat's forward/rear position. Not worth the money or tearing apart a dash IMO.

I agree with g35tr... those memory seats are kinda useless unless u get the tilt, the rearview mirros, or the sideview mirrors to also move too. I wonder why Infiniti doesnt put it in...

I thought for sure the option would have been added to the 04'. Guess we'll just have to see about the 05'. Was the power telescoping steering column (as on the FX)added to 04's, or do we have to wait to see in 05' for this too? Once that gets added, I'd think you'd see the memory seats.

Re: seat memory set up for Coupe

The 04s don't have anything new vs. the 03s in the way of power seats or steering column etc... - unfortunately

My list of wishes in no particular order
- power seat back
- memory seats
- passenger mirror tilt down on going into reverse (working on this one)
- sunroom open on remote (might try it someday)
- window and sunroof close from remote (might try it someday)
- use satellite interface for aux input (found this, just waiting for Pac Audio to release it)
- Trip computer
- Height adjustable seatbelts

basically all those little nice things that are in just about every other infiniti. Whew, it is a good thing this car is amazing in every other way

Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once.

Re: seat memory set up for Coupe

And how much do the Sedan seats cost? If for a coupla hundred dollars I can get a power seat back and memory seats while retaining the seat design I would consider it.

THe only down side (or maybe it isn't) is you won't be able to access the back seat from the driver side easily (seat won't slide forward like it does now).

Re: seat memory set up for Coupe

There is a big difference between the Sedan seats and the Coupe seats, and I'm sure once you see the two side by side, you'll throw that idea out the window all-together.

Re: seat memory set up for Coupe

I only question what ever happened to the memory seats option, and why it was removed in the first place. Originally, the G35 had these, but for some reason, once production hit, they were removed. Check it out:

PS. What happened to that suede seating too?
