New Owner - Where to purchase extended warranty for 04

Hello Everyone,

I just bought a used MT 2004 Infiniti this weekend. It has 13,800 miles on it however, I bought it from a Ford dealership. The salesman told me it was a trade in and the warranty was expired already. From doing a search on the forums it seems that the G35 has a 4 yr/30k bumper to bumper and 6yr/60k power train warranty. Now since I bought it from a Ford dealership I didn't receive any warranty paperwork for my G35. Am I defaulted to receiving the warranty because I am the new owner or do I need to contact Infiniti and fill out some paperwork? Also, what are some good places to buy an extended warranty?

Also, the driver side seat is a little worn and from searching the forums it seems that this is a common defect. Can I get this fixed under the warranty before it expires?

Also, when I accelerate in the car I can feel a "rumble", "rattle" in the shifter, is this normal or is it my axles are bad? My brother who owned a 350z said it was normal.

Any help would be great as I am a new owner.

Congrats on the new car! Go to your nearest Infiniti dealership and they will tell you all the info on the warranty and whether it has expired or not. If it has expired, you can buy an extended warranty from them. The rumble is normal for the manuals. Not too sure about the seat being replaced under warranty.

Congratulations on your purchase, and welcome to the forum.

I believe the warranty is 4yrs or 50,000 miles bumper to bumper
There was a 3yr or 36,000 miles on the 03 -04 automatic cars brake system
The powertrain warranty is I believe 6yrs or 70,000 miles.....

Cosmetic repairs such as the seat fall under your 4yr warranty.
If your warranty has expired, I'm sure your local Infiniti dealership can offer you an extended warranty for your car at additional cost.

Look at the vehicle information sticker in your door panel, there should be a manufacturer date. Add 4 years to do that. If it hasnt been 4 years, then you still have the warranty. The best place to buy extended warranty would be from infiniti in my opinion. Its gonna be expensive. They wanted $1800 for a 4 year warranty for my 03. So expect to pay around that for a extended warrant from infiniti. And congrats on the purchase, very low miles for the year.

bumper to bumper warranty is 4 years/60K miles... powertrain warranty is 6 years/70K miles..

if the car does have warranty it should transfer over to you.. buy an extended warranty from a INFINITI dealer

i dont think they will cover the worn seat under warranty.

the chattery shifter is normal

I think the warranty only starts on the date on and there after the vehicle is purchased, not the build date. What does the $1,800 warranty cover? I'm in the same dilema as some of you guys, my bumper-to-bumper runs out at the end of December. I called my dealer to find out how much I had left.

Riverside Infiniti hooked me up, saved $600 compared to the local dealers quote.. it was 1100-1200 to add 3 years/36k.. but it goes by mileage so yours may be less. Call them and ask for their finance dept. Tell them you are calling from internet ads on the forums. They will give you great pricing. You can do it all by fax. Oh.. sometimes Grubbs in DFW has good deals on warranties.. but I havent heard anything on Grubbs in a year or more.

the warranty is 4 years 60k miles and 5 years 70k miles on the powertrain, when you buy an extended warranty make sure you know the pricing difference between one that has a deductable and one that doesnt and one that covers the car bumper to bumper and one that just covers major components

Well, if 4 years hasn't passed since the car was built, it would be safe to assume some warranty remains You just don't know how much.
