03 Coupe, Fuel Recall
Has anyone had to get the recall taken care of on their coupes? I was wondering what all it consisted of. They told me it was a fuel line recall.
Will this recall have anything to do with the car never wanting to take fuel when filling up the tank?

^^^^ Hey thanks. I appreciate the info. seems like an old recall to have not been done yet. The car was serviced at the Infiniti Dealer before I bought it in December 06.
I had mine replaced but i can tell that me infiniti g35 sedan loaner hasnt had it fixed because it doesnt allow a full tank to be auto put in at the pump, its click on and off and you have to plead with it to fill up

These are two totally different things.
1. The inability to fill all the way has to do with the fuel pump in the tank (I believe). I had this fixed so long ago that I don't remember but I think this is what it is. They had to drop the fuel tank, so I assume it was something with the pump.
2. The cracking fuel line, well, there was a post on the 350Z site with pics on what they have to do to get at that line. Basically, they take apart the entire rear end of your car!! No joke, the rear of your car has to be dropped to get at that line--suspension, frame pieces, everything. I don't think many of us have done this-there is just too much possibility of the dealer screwing something up to have this done.

The recall was for a faulty vapor hose line that had a tendency to dry out and crack.....The tank has to be dropped for them to perform the recall.
The Failure to be able to fill the tank completely has to do with a pressure valve in the neck of the gas tank. It at times closes prematurely and will not allow the tank to fill all the way.....this will be repaired free if your still under warranty.

I am planning to keep my car for basically ever since I am going to pick up an SUV for winter/part time daily. I wonder if I should have this recall done since the liklihood of it failing will be increased the longer the car is around.
Hmmm.

I had this done in april of 06. For me, it fixed the problem with filling up the tank and havent had any problems since it got done. Had it done at Metro Infiniti in Duarte. Have been pleased with their service/warranty related problems every time.
