I didn't think you could still buy a nissan warranty when you're out of the bumper to bumper coverage.
Make sure its a Nissan Warranty you are buying. I bought an "aftermarket" warranty once for my QX4 and it sucked! They reviewed your invoices "after you paid for it" then approved and disapproved every other item... so something like a sun roof which would be covered on an extended Nissan warranty became a haggle and bargain about what I was going to pay for and what my extended warranty was going to reimburse me for...
When your car breaks down, the headaches were still there (i.e. money out of pocket, haggling with warranty to pay, is it even covered?), not like a Nissan bumper to bumper (or extended) warranty where you just brought it in and waited till Infiniti called you to come pick up your car.
If you take good care of your car, I'd say save the $2K for any possible repairs that could arise... if you drive a lot, the 36K miles will be over probably before any problems... but STAY AWAY FROM AFTERMARKET WARRANTIES!
