Should I warm my car up before I drive?

I heard that warming up just wastes gas and it's a better idea to just get on your way and take it easy for a while.
In my case, I might let it sit for 10 secs before I let the car roll out of my long *** driveway. That could take about 10-30 seconds depending on if there are other cars I need to squeeze by. Then I slowly drive to the end of my court, about 5-10 seconds. Then I drive slowly for another minute before I reach the freeway.
All in all, I think that's about equivalent to everyone and their 30-60 second warmups.

The ecu's start up open loop mode runs the engine richer to help start the car and warm it up faster. But richer is worse for the oil, gas mpg and cats.
