smell after aggressive driving

I noticed a "burning" sort of smell near the engine after I drive somewhat aggressive. It smells similar to the burning rubber smell of brakes, but it doesnt smell at all near the wheels. I'm wondering if it's just a normal engine thing, but it doesnt seem to happen on my 335i bmw. Any1 else experience this weird smell after driving? Do I need to replace/clean my air filter or add oil or something? Thanks.

ps. sometimes it even occurs when I accelerate say from 0-50, but barely use the brakes to slow me down, so I don't think it is the brakes.

Its smells GREAT, I think you are just taking about the normal smell of the G getting hot, how old is your car. I miss the smell my car made when it was new.

+1 means you agree with the statement someone else made. I think the smell is normal, especially if you are pushing the car. Just make sure there is nothing rubber touching the hot motor.

so it doesn't sound normal with an AT since it isn't the clutch burning is it? Do ATs ever burn the clutch? Is there any rubber under the stock hood that is possibly touching the engine? i don't notice anything when I pop the hood, but I do have the engine cover on, so maybe it's hiding it..

Its your oil temperature i think...after i floor the car about 6 times from 0-80mph+ i start to smell that burning smell as well. Sometimes if im lucky the engine will get over heated and smoke starts comming from the hood. Then you take her easy for the next 20 min

Check your engine coolant as well. Might be low.
